| BGE announces Christmas Town for 2009
Always knew this would happen at some point. Christmas Town - A Busch Gardens Celebration - Coming in 2009 It seems BGE has decided to join the ranks of those few seasonal parks that do Christmas Specials. I can't believe it took them this long to do this. From what I hear if they fix the park up right it really does look amazing with all of the snow among the foliage and woods of the park. I wonder what sort of attractions they could make out of existing rides and such. Oh they could have so much fun with this!

Looks intresting. I might have to check it out next year. I honestly hope this event does well cause maybe this is just the thing that could bring Winterfest back to Carowinds.

I got excited, because I'll be in VA Beach from the 19th to the 23rd but no, it's next year.

Good news. I don't see any of the big coasters open. And I saw nothing indicating what rides might be open. It will likely come down to the slower the ride the more likely it will be open. The new Sesame St area and it's rides will likely be open. England, Italy (Davinci's Garden only), Scotland, Germany, Ireland. They would likely close most of Italy and France.

Why wouldn't they open the big coasters? Maybe Griffon and Alpengeist can't open because their hydraulic floors won't work well, but I don't see why at least the two arrow coasters can't be open.

There is the 40 degree rule. If the temperature reaches 40 degrees F or lower, the coasters can't operate. So even if they manage to get the coasters open, if 40 degrees happens none of them can work. I definitely predict some huge thing could happen at sesame place, it being a kids area around christmas time, the two are meant to be together.

Well I don't know the weather in Virginia that well but most day are likely to be too cold to operate big coasters. but even at 45-50 add some wind chill than added wind chill from the rides it's not very comfortable or enjoyable. I have ridden coaster at 40-50 degrees it's not that fun.
