I wish I understood Opryland culture. I knew an Opryland show used to be on TNN, the old Nashville country tv channel. I wonder what Gaylord Entertainment would want for the Opryland name.

The guy is money grubbing So I woudl guess a lot. We flattened a reasonably successful theme park so he could build a mall.

Correction: He flattened a reasonably successful theme park so he could build a mall that was a flop.

Ya I know the mall was a Flop. The Hotel is amazing though.

If the park is staying Music themed but not Hard Rock. It should Cover all form of music. Rock, Pop, country, etc.

I wouldn't count on the getting a Virgin Megastore to fill the one section of park.

If they have to pay money to the old owners, I would go out of my way to rename everything. I wouldn't give them a dime.

Where did that come from? Was it ever being considered?
I really cant see either side thinking about it since Virgin has already announced they are closing all 6 US locations.

Exactly, they're closing. Even the Times Square one. I was just thinking of the 70's section. It's built into the old outlet mall building isn't it? Very mega store looking.

I could see them looking for sponsors in attractions. Instead of paying for naming right one company or band might be willing to pay for their name to be on teh attraction.

I realized I never looked at the menus/attractions of the old website when it was that park, as excited as I was about it. I guess not enough.

I'm sure your not the only one. Which was a big problem of theirs. They really did have a problem getting the word out to people.

I just bought a HRP shirt on Ebay. It looks like it's from the preview center they had since it has a "Opening in 2008" tag on it. I hope it's not one of those cheapie shirts you buy outside a concert in the parking lot. In looking it up on Google I found a saved archive of the original park site.

As of last night I learned of a registered website: Freestyle Music Park. All it said last night was: Coming Soon. This morning the company that bought the park announced the new name: Freestyle Music Park. I see Freestyle as being a brand name.

I saw a news report mentioning the new but that it hasn't been officially announced or picked yet.

I really hope that is not the name. It is one of the worst names I have ever heard.

If it's a separate brand - Freestyle, I'm okay with it. If it's all together Freestyle Music then I think it's so/so.

The commercial writes itself for the current times when the big retailers are jumping on the Target store bandwagon of talking about saving and doing more. I can imagine the tag line will be: "Nothing sounds better than Free, Free, Free. Freestyle Music Park."

10 year old kids on RCT come up better names. This is bad. But I'm more mad that Zeppelin will also have a new theme. At least this place still exists.

The zeppelin station face will probably remain so I'd look for the old signs of the place. I'd be mad too but on the corporate name that was ditched. I too am glad it still exists. It's like getting that extra year for Astroland. The second time around I took it and visited.

Naah, off the top of my head Visionland was worse imo. haha

Hopefully things go smoother this time, I already got the credits so I'm in no hurry to get back down there, though.

Meh, after one ride I was tired of standing through the pre-show and having Whole Lotta Love screamed at me during a mediocre at best B&M...

I think I'd prefer Visionland. There has to be a better name then Freestyle Music park. I realize it's hard to come out with Music related names that don;t require a naming rights deal but there has to be a better name then this.

I never understood Visionland in Alabama. It just made Rampage look more of an oddball. It's current Alabama Adventures name is much better.

I agree completely Alabama Adventure is a much better name. I think even Music Adventure park would be better. It's too bad they had so little time to workout a name they likely would have come up with something better.
