I think it's time for my Southern Rock Tour TR. Time Machine is really like an out of Orlando Incredible Hulk. One week removed from my vacation is now enough time. I'm pulling out my park maps to put on my room door.

There is $5 general admission this weekend for anyone dressed as Michael Jackson at the park.

They have another commercial above the Time Machine station commercial with the family and reporter chick?

So they only have the one commercial. I guess if it gets teh job done that's OK. But I woudl think they woudl want something to show off that the park is more then that one coaster.

That's why I was hoping for a more regional commerical. I see commercials here in the Philly market for most recently Ocean City, NJ, the Wildwoods, NJ, and Williamsburg, which blows out commercials 10 times more frequently than Busch Gardens. I see one every time I watch Jeopardy at 7pm. Those regional commercials seems to always have a BGE coaster in them. Mrytle Beach could promote golfing, the beach, the ballpark, and have a single Freestyle shot at least.

Ya the local tourist area should be promoting Freestyle. Another thing they could do is for existing tourists is to have a brochures at every attraction. They do this in the White mountains here in NH. Every attraction has a stand with brochures for the other attractions. every one promotes the other.

They succeeded with that at the hotel I stayed at in Florence, SC the first night. They had the largest brochure in the display rack there.

I'm so glad there is a pic to back up that the park was really packed on the 4th of July. It took a super promo but I'm glad that park was packed.

I've had my best word of mouth experience recently. I met a customer going on a first time Myrtle Beach visit, told them about the park and very easily they picked up the Freestyle part of the name. They asked about things for teens particularly. I even threw in mention of the back to school promo they seem to have and mentioned about food in the area. I hope they make it there on their visit. In fairness for a well rounded suggestion I mentioned Family Kingdom as well.

I am so glad they made it through a first full season! I felt lucky enough to make it in this second season of the park altogether in existence coming back like it did.

Just a question

Does anyone know what happened to the Mascots that HRP had?

I didn't even know about some of the HRP mascots but didn't some of them reappear with the new park? That was part of a summer campaign. I know the bears are definitely gone.

The ugly truth recently is the park was slapped with what - its 17th lawsuit, one even by Zamperla for unpaid bills. I didn't really want to talk about it as bad as the season has been for them and the industry in general. I read they did find some additional investors. They need cash.

I was wondering the same thing, What Mascots? Are you talking about the questionable show girl looking Royal guards.

True, finally fund an image:

Thing is though if it's a contracted character, which I think it was, it wasn't worth paying for the naming rights when it wasn't a well known brand. If it was created then they would have had to pay the HRP developers fists fulls of money to keep them. Creating a small family show on their own was a much more cost effective alternative.

I hated their mascots. They look like the rebirth of the original Carowinds characters.

And yes, that's me in diapers on the second one.
