BGE Passport Changes

When did they get rid of the discount for buying more than 4 Passes?

50% price increase

We were planning more than 20 days at various Busch parks over the next two years. In the past, 5 passes cost us around $1000 with the family pack. Now, it would be $1500 for five passes. When I politely explained to the call rep that they instituted a 50% price increase, all she offered was a weak apology. She said that they all came in Monday morning and were informed that the only discounts available were to last years pass holders. Nothing if you had had passes in the past but skipped a year. What's worse, they are promoting a price DECREASE on their website because the one park, one year pass has been temporarily reduced until the end of March.

This is my understanding. The "one park one year pass" was approx. $125 in 2008. The price increased to approx. $130 in 2009 until just this Monday when it was announced that the price was being reduced to approx. $100 (there is currently a promotion to save $10 if purchased before the end of March). This newly reduced price is indeed a great savings over the price for a pass in the last 4-5 years. I believe this "new" price is the same as the price in 2008 if you bought the 4-pack. In essence everyone is getting the savings of a 4-pack without having to buy four tickets.

Oh kay, so a two year platinum pass at BGE cost $300 , so what , its good for all the parks. Come buy that same pass here at BGT, $430...needless to say it is cheaper there than here, and it is still a two year pass...Think of it this way, its $50 more for another year plus all the parks, sounds like a good deal if you ask me. Oh, and a one year pass for the four Disney parks is $470, and if you add the water parks and Disney Quest, it is $600...

They still raised the price by 50% for their most loyal customers, the ones who visit more than 1-2 parks and are willing to commit to two years. They are screwing over the people who spend the most money in their parks. What other business has the audacity to raise prices by 50% in this economy and then try to say that they lowered them? Believe me, we were BGE customers for most of 15 years, with occasional years off to take the kids to Disney and CP. I love BGE and considered it our home park, but a 50% price increase is tough to swallow, especially with their new screw the customer attitude.

Like I said $300 is not bad for 2 year passes for all their parks...and they are still one of the the only parks that use flex pay so you do not have to through all that cash out at once...So I will tell all my fellow Floridians to go to Virginia and purchase the pass there instead of at our BG.But hey, if you really think they have a screw you attitude, dont go, less waiting in line for someone else and you might as well never go to Six Flags, they are fantastic at customer relations.
