| Post Bankruptcy filing Six Flags ads
As they said they would Six Flags has posted more ads after they finally declared bankruptcy in June to let the public know that business is mostly as usual at the individual parks of the chain. As part of this new blitz of commercials I've heard more radio ads. Today in person on a major commuter route into Philadelphia very close to Center City I saw a "Departing Daily - All Summer Long" billboard on I-95. Like an airline billboard that was a great choice of words for the type of message they want to send: the local SF park is open for business daily. Are there any post filing ads you've noticed?

I've Noticed that they've been playing more Six Flags Ads in the Last Month, then all Year.

Second Quarter results are in and there are terrible. I wonder how this will affect the bankruptcy results.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair were both hurting, so hopefully CF's bad news is good news for SF in regards to that. Not much you can do as a company when SF Mexico is ordered closed for a week by the government because of Swine Flu, and absolutely terrible weather in the Northeast (i.e. 24 days of rain here in the NY tri-state area in June, and a near-washout week during Spring Break here in Jersey). All you can do is take the hit and hope Q3 is a knockout.

The rain is as a legitimate excuse this summer as ever in the Northeast. It was pretty frequent and just added to what lack of guests was expected because of the economy.

^Frequent as ever? I wouldn't say that. It's an El Nino year, and the weather has been incredibly screwy this summer. It rains a decent amount in the north east, but not usually as much as what we've had in the past. Usually I'd say it rains about once, maybe twice a week on a normal basis. This year, it has rained nearly every day.

It rained what all but 9 days in June in the Delaware Valley? That's the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware tri state area. Plants have become diseased even.
