15 ride park list

I have volunteered to get some info for a group looking to reopen Whalom park in MA. they are looking for a tentative list of what ride to focus on for opening. So what's being looked for is a list of 15 rides you feel should be at any park. nothing to specific, for example Pirate ship is perfectly fine over Huss swing shop of chance sea dragon.

you can post your responses here or on the Whalom forums: Top 15 Rides!

1- a Wild Mouse coaster
2- a family/kiddie coaster
3- an Enterprise
4- a Rockin' Tug
5- a Balloon race
6- a Scrambler
7- a Wave Swinger
8- a dark ride
9- bumper cars
10- a Ferris Wheel
11- a kiddie ride section
12- a drop tower
13- a rapids ride, shoot-the-chute, or log flume
14- a guided car ride
15- a carousel

If we could go one over, maybe a mine train coaster.

I'm not sure what size the park is or their budget looks like, but I think that this list is pretty balanced and should fit a smaller scaled park.

The main land Plot woudl be that form teh original park. a small plot of 30 acres. so compact rides like the wild mouse are great suggestions.

Wow I wish they could bring the original wooden coaster back from the dead. I know the banned James was there, actually took pics of that coaster too.

Actually the program has been in contact with PTC to attempt to find the Original Comet Blue prints. We have also been approached by Gravity Group, they are interested in redesigning the coaster using any known states and images e may have and they feel they can design a coaster that is as close as possible but with adding any modern changes that might be required.

This Looks Like Fun!

1. S&S Power El Loco Coaster- Even more compact and nicer than a Wild Mouse!
2. Zierer Force 2 Coaster
3. Mondial Splashover
4. S&S Space Shot
5. Mondial Top Scan
6. Giant Wheel
7. Zierer Wave Swinger
8. HUSS Rodeo/Breakdance 4
9. Zierer Tower Coaster- While the only one in the world lives in my home park Lagoon, this coaster is very compact and full of thrills with a launch, 110 foot tall vertical hill, and vertical G-Roll
10. Zierer Dragon Ride
11. Zierer Flying Fish
12. Zierer Kontiki
13. S&S Frog Hopper
14. Intamin Bounty
15. Gravity Group Coaster- That idea would be amazing! Go for it if at all possible!

Not without modifying the ride. teh way teh station is shaped it would have to go along the back end of the property which is not flat. It would also block off the view of Lake Whalom.

Despite that fact, feel free to post a 15 ride list. your input will be used in the results. every ones Opinion matters.

Ryan - Kiddie rides are a given. in fact we have locked down 4 original Whalom Kiddie rides. If it's OK we can fill in those kiddie ride spots with you listed suggestions; Train, tea cups, frisbee, etc.

GAmFanboy - like all the names maybe Billy D Whale can have a pet named Blubber! one thing I have proposed to theme is using other lost parks to name some key rides; Palisades Plung perhaps. Maybe a play on Words Fall River, there is a FallRivers, MA

We have ass seen The Great Old Amusement Parks Show. It was what Drew Andrew Probert (Disney Imaginering, Back to the Future 1, Star Trek (Motion Picture, TNG), our designer, to the program.

It doesn't have the Curved Station House at Cypress Gardens, just a minimal loading platform. Although I guess it would be nice for a park that has the room for the original design to buy it.

you know how it has the station and the tear drop area were it turns to the lift. The station is in the left, which is what I was getting at. would require the coaster to go in an impossible location or we'd have to shoe horn it smack dab in the middle of the park. An out and back while an amazing layout woudl compete with 2 other out and back in the area Canoboie Lakes Cannonball and Lake Compounces Bouldersdash.
