| worse product names
this is inspired by that DT quote in the coaster forum: **** Kinzel, Cedar Fair (NYSE: FUN) amusement parks We put a $4 million building around this dog ride and named it "Disaster Transport." I still remember on opening day a gentleman walked out of the ride and came over to me and said, "You named that one right -- that's a disaster." And you know what, he was right. That was by far the dumbest thing I ever did. Thinking about it it was a stupid name to call a ride. This reminds of a video game i once saw called abomination, which was quite funny. Don't know if it was any good or not. |

What the hell are you talking about? Your joke? How is it a joke in the first place, and how is it yours anyway? And Spam? You're the one off topic. www.bevnet.com/reviews/pimpjuice/ And here's another one, I think Gatorade is a really bad name. It just has a really odd sound to it. |

No I said SPAM was a bad product name and I made a thread awhile back about he pimp juice and that is why it was a joke but I said mine because that was what I was going to put down.

If I'm not mistaken, Gatorade actually originated in Florida. Something about a replenishing body fluid type drink and the Florida Gators were the first to use it, hence the name.

But going off that, I'd have to say Power-Ade is a rip off of Gatorade. Plus, gatorade tastes much better. then you also have All-Sport which is kinda misleading as well.

back on topic, Chevy Nova. What makes this a bad name, is that the car was sold in Mexico. Ask anyone who speaks spanish what "no va" translates into. hehehe

The only thing more disgusting i think was a horrible drink called kool-aid or something like that. I Can still taste it - 6 years on! Yuk! |

Gatorade is as good as it gets in sports drinks- quenches your thirst, tastes fine, and replenishes many nutrients and electrolytes you lose and can't regain from water. Right now with all the sports I'm doing, I drink about 3 or 4 of the 20 oz. bottles a day, and it really helps. But back on topic, Yoohoo is a pretty bad name. That's all I can think of right now.

The first gulp was consumed by an alligator. That's the real reason it has that name! Haha. Pimp Juice has got to be the dumbest freaking name! I mean come on. That's just lame.

I'd have to say the Pimp Juice, and the Corn Nuts Extreme. What is extreme about Corn Nuts? (maddox anyone? haha)

Atrace, it's "CORN NUTS, CORN GONE WRONG!" If you're gonna make fun of something, make sure you know the facts first .

I remember seeing an ad for this juice that had the disney cartoon characters on it, and they called it "Disney Extreme Coolers" I think. Now, think about that. They used Disney and extreme in the same sentance. That alone is just laughably bad. Another bad product name is Aspercreme, simply because the guy in the ads had to keep saying "Aspercreme does not contain asprin". |

i think lucozade is more refreshing than gatorade anyway (and it tastes really nice, where gatorade i can't stand). Both lack enough caffeine though so i still have something like pepsi with them. I guess cause they are both sports drinks, and caffeine dehydrates you? I don't know just guessing.

Now that cedayboy2001 brought it up, h\the worst fruit juice name in the world is the Cartoon Network Bellywashers. Why put a name that just basically describes it's a drink...I think we all know that.

Also, Corn Nuts is the best name for corn nuts they could possibly have. It's nuts that taste like corn. The worst product name is by far "XBox". Think about it. |
Originally posted by coaster9freak skye, what the heck is lucozade? That sounds pretty dumb to me.
You must have it there...i'm sure i remember buying it when i went to the US. Basically its a Glucose drink....supposed to give you enery. Hard to describe the taste...its unique, but nice. syrupy is probably the best description. there are different flavours like orange/lemon as well as the original. Its nothing like gatorade though, its very thick for a drink, very sticky (all that sugar probbly) quite sickly if you drink too much. Its the opposite of gatorade which tastes like thined water with a (tiny) bit of chemical flavouring in. |
Originally posted by leeloo1953 Skye, I've never heard of it either. Although I have to be honest, a syrupy, thick drink does not sound too good to me at all.
it dson't taste like syprup. its hard to describe. You MUST have it there, i bet you do, maybe under a differnent name. It is very unique taste, its anoying i can't describe it. Any UK people know what flavour it is? Its not like fruit or anything. Its an artificial flavour like dr. pepper (nothing like dr pepper i just mean it is a man-made taste. even cola comes from natural sources). Its not that syrupy, just compared to water it is. Very sticky when it dries (probably just all that sugar). EDIT: ok appears you don't get it there. Its just here people drink it sometimes when they are ill cause it has energy (don't know if it actually works; i always had it when i was younger and had flu or something) http://shop.store.yahoo.com/englishteastore/bev013.html I don't think gatorade is Glucose - but i could be wrong. Actually what is gatorade made from? preumably it dosn't have caffeine and it must have sugar of some sort. Last edited by Skye; 09-27-2003 at 06:37 PM. |

On the label of one of my many gatorade bottles: Water Sucrose Syrup Glucose-Fructose Syrup Citric Acid Natural Lemon and Lime Flavors (I had the Lemon/Lime Gatorade) with other natural flavors Salt Sodium Citrate Monopotassium Phosphate Ester Gum Yellow 5 Sugar isn't listed directly has an ingredient. And around the bottom of the label, it clearly states: LOW Sodium, NO Carbonation, NO Caffeine. I suppose to learn more about it, you COULD head to http://www.gatorade.com
