Question Preffered Seating

Where is the best place to sit on a coaster?

I like the middle personally. Decent airtime and good forces.

First of all, just to let you know, anything asking for best / worst / favorite, comparing objects, or in general asking a question that can be answered in less than a sentence, qualifies as a Poll and belongs in the Polls forum. I'll be moving this thread over momentarily.

That said, I don't particularly care where to sit -- whatever seat has the shortest line is fine by me. If they're all pretty equal, I try to sample all three -- front, middle, and back -- to be able to compare them. I also prefer to sit on the left side of the train, for whatever difference that makes.

Welcome to ThrillNetwork!

I go everywhere. It depends. Sometimes I honestly wouldn't care on MF. But if it's my first time, I try to go for the front. For inverts, front. Floorless, if it's one i've never been on, the front. But if I ride Medusa (Which I have ridden over 100 times) then I go for anywhere, or the back.

Anywhere. Usually back or front if I'm not in a hurry.

if i had a choice for pretty much any coaster, it would be the front row. there are some exceptions like steel force but other than those few, its the front row.

I always enjoy the front and make sure to ride in the front if I have not ridden that coaster before. Nothing beats the nearly unobstructed view and the full force of the wind in your face. If I know I can get good airtime on a coaster, then I go for the back.

To me, it depends on what kind of coaster.

Stand-ups : Front
Megas : Back / Front
Inverted : Front
Floorless : Back / Front
Suspended : Front
Mine Train : Back
Launched : Back

Though my favorite seat is up front, I prefer the back because it usually has less wait, especially for coasters I have already waited 1+ hours for. If it's a smaller park, front is prefered.

Most of time I head for the back, because of the line for the front.

Ha Ha. Ha.

I like the front on inverts and stand-ups, back on anything else. Standing in line for the front is like starving yourself all day long before Thanksgiving dinner.

I usally try to ride front row my first time on a coaster, and then the back. Then next time I do either....middle, shortest line, or front/back if one of them was incredibly good.

I go shortest line first time unless I really want a front or back seat. On MF I got back row first time because I heard how knuts the first drop is in the back and I hafta say everyone was right about that...I don't really prefer a seat on most rides...

On most coasters, I like the back seat. There are plenty of execptions though, such as TTD (well, I haven't actually ridden back but since airtime doesn't play a major part in the ride, I seriously doubt that that would make a difference).

According to DBB the back was the best seat on TTD. I liked the front though. I usually prefer back though...

i always go for the front, even on hypers. I love having a good view, and the wind making your eyes water. On rough loopers(orient express) i usually go to the back.

I sit always in the back. I think you get more airtime sitting back there then in the front. They best place to sit in the back on is wood costers but I do have to tell you sitting in the front on Volcano is very good

Wherever the line is the shortest. If no line exist, then the back.

If it is a wood coaster with bunny hills or sharply peaked hills taken fast that are going to deliver (Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Thunder Run etc.) then front seat or closest to it, nothing less. If it is a wood coaster that has large drops with limited ejector air, then backseat is the best way to go, to get the whip effect off of the top of decents. (Riverside Cyclone, Legend, Raven, Silver Comet, Twister etc.)
In the case of steel coasters, well it doesnt really matter, unless its a hyper, and in that situation the same rules for wood coasters apply.

Where I like to sit depends on the ride. For example the front seat (unload side) of TTD is the best, while the back seat (unload side) of WT is my favorite. Raptor---back row, outside, unload side; Magnum---I'm happy riding Maggie in any seat, but do have a liking for 13, 21 and 61 (red, blue, and black last). Generally, I'll take the line with the shortest wait---so I can ride and get right back in line.
