Best way to relieve class boredom

What is the best way to relieve in class boredom? We all know you get it, especially in High School. Share your thoughts.

I say sleep.

I skipped class a lot, but only the painfully boring ones.

In high school, talk to some hot chick.
In college, drop the class and take it online the following semester.

Write stuff. Though it depends on the locale of your class. If it is a large class of 100+, auditorium like, sleep, skipping class all work. If it is in a classroom setting, then you have to look remotely busy. I pretty much doodled a lot. I went through some old notebooks as I coulddn't sleep last night and I noticed hat I did a lot of doodling. And that was to just stay awake!

I do many of those things on the poll. Half the time, I'm too tired in school to care, so I either put my head down and stare and daydream, or just give up and fall asleep.

I either skip or write stuff. As CP_M said, it depends on the setting. I barely ever go to an auditorium lecture, and tend to "forget" to go to some boring classroom lectures now and then as well. Ah, I just don't like school.

notes used to get passed around a lot when i was at school. It was kinda a challenge in itself not to be caught passing a note. Everyone would read it, and often add their own stuff.

One memorable time, someone wrote something about the teacher. They got caught with it, and the teacher demanded to see it, they actually ate it!
It was a bit obvious but at least there was no evidence!

this is a repeat http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8857

i have all differant things i do. sometimes if i bring my laptop to class is just play games on it the whole time (but carrying it around and stuff is annoying so i dont bring it to all my classes). the rest is either doodling in my notebooks or just spacing out. one day im going to scan in one of my folders that u made this huge really really detailed design on and post it, its really cool.

That's over two years old, I believe the cutoff is between 6 months to one year in "assuming" a repetition of a thread.

I enjoy spacing out because it is so easy for me to do. And you don't look totally out of it...

I tried to space out in my Science class, but our teacher has this inflatable globe, and when she sees someone with their head down, she'll throw the globe at them, so, after she hit the person 4 desks away from me, I started paying attention again.

I space out a lot during school. If something grabs my attention even just a little bit, I can stare at it for hours.

I read. It's the all-purpose way of allieviating boredom, at least for me. Depending on the class, I can also play games on my cellphone, talk to friends, or doodle random things.

I just sit there. I used to throw stuff around the room at other people, and repeatedly correct the teacher when she would give incorrect answers to questions, but I don't have any teachers that I can do that with now without getting in lots of trouble. One time when the teacher left the room, all my friends flipped the desks over for cover, and we started whipping stuff at each other, then the teacher came back, saw us, and just turn around and left because she didn't want to deal with it. She was great.

I usually either space out, play games on the calculator (especially in math), or talk to a good-looking girl.

Do you ever do something to get you yelled at just to cure boredom? I remember once in German class in high school I just started standing on my chair for no reason. It was funny, she was like "Herr Gene, was is dass?? Dass ist nicht Deustch!!"

I would practice my signature over and over and over. I think I have a pretty cool signature now.

I like to read. Or watch snowflakes drift past the window. Or draw. Or make origami. Or do other homework, play with a marble (the slanted desks make good "pinball" settings!), think, think, think, think, daydream, space out, think, think, probe my gray stuff, imagine some "what if's" (my "What If? Six hundred Thought Prompters" book helps). In short, I can find things to do.

In class? Right. Sure. I know teachers turn a blind eye and sometimes a deaf ear, but I think you wouldn't get away with it AND you are making that up.
