Cell Phone Coverage

Hey, I'm buying a new cell phone this week (AT&T sucks), and I wanted to get some feedback from you guys. Who do you think has the best coverage? I've been told that Sprint has the clearest sound and the best coverage. I'm also considering Alltell and Verizon. I'm interested to hear what you've experienced.

While I dont live anywhere near you, I will agree that in my area, AT&T has very poor coverage as well. Also in my area, Sprint and I believe Nextel don't work very well (although I havn't experienced eithor). I know some people who have T-Mobile (..which I think is part of Alltel). Right now I have Verizon, and they have the best coverage for my area by-far. I guess its all based on your area...but here Verizon wins by a longshot.

Thanks for your input. I'm anxious to hear from other people. I travel a lot so it's good to know about other areas.

I don't live near you either, but everywhere I've travelled Verizon has always had good, strong signals. They also have a friendly and knowledgeable sales staff/customer service. Haven't had any billing problems with them, either.

They get my reccommendation.

T-Mobile, by far. It's got great coverage here, not to mention 1000 free minutes, anytime, anywhere, and I think there's also unlimited night and/or weekend minutes too, all for 40 bucks a month. I wouldn't go with Cingular, it's horrible.

I like T-Mobil! I haven't had any problems with it at all! I used it when I went to Chicago and Sandusky in August and my bill wasn't high at all! My friend took here AT&T phone there when we went which is in my name and the the bill was 472.00 - they charged us 165.00 just to roam! That sucks- T-Mobile charged nothing!!

Yeah, we have 4 lines/4 phones sharing a pool of 800 minutes for approximately $100 a month on average (as shown on the bill). They charge us only $2.99/month for 500 text messages, plus free roaming, long distance and unlimited night & weekend minutes. But that was when we signed with them more than a year ago. Now the plans aren't that great because T-Mobile is now becoming more familiar with people on the West Coast.

I have Alltel, and I've been pretty happy with them.

I pay $29.99 a month, for 200 minutes no long distance no roaming as long as I dial from the Southeast which cuts down my long distance all together.

They also have a nationwide plan for $39 a month, same terms, just can call from anywhere in the US instead of just your region.

Alltel is probably not the clearest, but then again I'm not using digital either, just a regular cell phone. Good luck phone hunting!

They are not the same. Every service has it's positives and negatives. So far I've heard Sprint and Verizon are the best for national plans. However, T-mobile is supposed to be good too. Keep the input coming. It's interesting to see who likes what and where they are located.

Oh well. Well, I have Verizon and haven't had any trouble.
