| | | Favorite Drop Tower??? I searched, and to my surprise this has not been discussed!
So, what's your favorite drop tower(s)?
Mine would be:
1) Drop Zone - PKI
2) Drop Zone - PKD
3) Dr. Doom's Fear Fall - IOA
4) Acrophobia - SFOG (I like the height, hate the seats)
5) Drop Zone - PC
Haven't been on Power Tower yet, because of the lines everytime I've been at CP (only twice).

| | | I've never been on any of these. The best I've been on is Dominator at DP.
I will probably never ride one of these again. I fell out of it the last time.

| | | I vote Acrophobia for scariest, but the S&S launch towers and 1st gen. freefalls are fun to ride. |

| | | Well, we were at the top. And the ride-op dropped his soda, he rushed around looking for napkins and hit the e-stop. Well.. This triggered the hydraulics in the seat to open, and weeeeeeeeeeeeee I fell straight down about 100 feet and hit the ground hard. I skinned my knee, but DP paid for the socks that were stained by the blood.
I'll never ride that thing again.

| | | Alright, seriously, that's just dumb. Those things have so many redundant safety systems that even if the ludicrious story you told were even patially true, you'd still have had to unbuckle your seat belt and over come the hydraulic force which isn't released during an e-stop unless the ride engages the sensors at the base of the tower. That and a 100 foot fall which gave you bloody socks? Come on now. We're not all 12.

He was joking... calm down... lol. But thanks for letting us know how drop towers work... interesting.... As for the bloody socks, I think theme parks would replace them if you got hurt.. I mean, they're just socks... |
