Christmas List 2003

The video game wish list thread got me thinking about this. Since I don't play video games anymore, I was wondering what ya'll want for Christmas this year. My Christmas list is as follows:

Digital Camera
Bocce Ball Set
Dining Room Table
Sleep Sound Machine from Hammacher Schlemmer
Subscription to Funworld Magazine
Two Ceiling Fans
Nice Patio Furniture set w/ chairs and table
Portable Sport Mp3 player
Outkast 2 disc Album
New Couch and Easy Chair

If you can't tell, I'm moving into my new condo I just bought. Yeah! Except now I need new furniture.

Post in this thread what's on your list. I think it tells a lot about a person.

Do you have rich family and friends? That's some costly stuff there.

Yeah, I know. I really don't think I'll get any of the furniture. Doesn't hurt to list it. I suppose I should just put down "anything for a new condo".

I'm shooting for a new computer - full tilt - and a week in Paris this Spring. I always get myself a couple of gifts! Merry Christmas to me!

Ahhh...Christmas....
Well, here's my list. Just because it's on my list doesn't mean I'll get it, although i do know the ones i will get.

-Lego (three sets, two are 19.99, the other is 69.99 USD)
-DVD's (A few i'm looking for:Catch Me If You Can, 187, Bend It Like Beckham, Keeping The Faith, Pirates of the Carribean and possibly the Indiana Jones trillogy, but that's a bit pricey)
-Gift Certificates/Money (These are great, esspcially if for electronic stores were i can get the dvd's i didn't get, or cd's i want)

That's about it. There is always stuff i want, but this is a realistic list. Like i could list a new computer and a hummer, but i won't get them, so i won't ask for them.

I think what making wish lists like this tells most about a person is how materialistic they are; I'd simply wait and buy the things myself rather than expect people to buy them for me. I know it may not apply to anyone here, but I know far too many people who get really upset when people pick out nice gifts for them but that weren't on their "approved list". That's just tacky, if you ask me.

Granted, on the other hand, my husband and I do make out lists for one another, but they're by no means a set thing and would never include gift cards and so forth. Mainly it's like clothing sizes or book titles for us to remember, and more often than not we use them to jot down things we know the other person would like so that we don't forget them.

Wow, a little early. But oh well.

Well, I'm inpatient, so I can't wait till Christmas to buy games like:
Unreal Tournament 2004
Halo
Generals:Zero Hour

But, I will get: (Mostly Computer Stuff)
SoundBlaster Audigy Gamer X Sound Card
Themral Fan Controller
RAM upgrade for the computer as well. (Up to 1 GB)
Mod Kit: (Unreal Window Decal, Unreal Fan Grille and two LED Fans).

Wow I'm a computer junkie.

Anyways, a few of that stuff I might just get myself. But the big stuff I'll save for X-Mas.

I never really ask for anything for my birthday or Christmas, and this year is no exception. Since my old MP3 player will not be read by my computer, I tried to update the software and stuff. I learned that the company went out of business so that's out of the question! The only thing I want this year is an Apple iPod. I think it'd be great. The smallest one is 10 gigs and that's more space for music than I'll need for the rest of my life.

That's all I'm asking for. Nothing much.

Whatever I don't get, I usually buy for myself. Anyhow, I made quite an extensive list while at the mall. Two calendars, one a regular 12 month and other one of those page-a-day jobs. I saw some nice classical music that would fit nice in my collection (since you really don't find much classical available for il"legal" download). One DVD that looked nice was the Collector's edition of West Side Story. A nice 2 DVD set, I can't wait!

So you're indirectly saying we are all materialistic. Hmmm. Nice. I don't expect anyone to get me squat. My list is only for family members (by their request) because they say I'm impossible to shop for...which I don't understand. It doesn't take much to make me happy.

I rarely by someone anything off their "list" because I think it's completely unoriginal. I like to use my creativity. I also like to buy them something that they would never buy for themselves, but would still love to have.

Ipod eh? I know my MP3 players and stuff, and I would reccmoned the Nomad Zen over the Ipod. The Ipod to me is so overrated, completley overpriced, and really doesn't have any outstanding features. It's just so talked about and over-advertised, and is one of those "hip things" to date. If I were you, I would get the Zen. Save you so much money, plus it has more space, it's about the same size, and comes with way better software.

This is just my opinion. If you want more help, you can IM me.

Top of my list is a Storm X-Factor, which is a bowling ball, and then maybe an expansion memory chip for my mp3 player. Thats over $250 right there so I'll stop.

My list:

A Car (which I REALLY don't expect to get)
Money (to buy the car that I'm not going to get for x-mas)
LOTR:Two Towers DVD

That's it. I think I have a slim chance of me getting a car, especially since my dad just got a new job so we're pretty finantially secure right now. But, if he does get me a car, there's a very good chance that he'll take the money I have saved up for it to get a better one for me (it'll be alittle over $2,000 by then I think)

Ta2KX, I am on my own for bowling equipment. I am currently torn between getting a new pair of Dexter SST 5 or 6, or a pair of those Kangaroo shoes by Dynathane.

I have music, DVD, books and clothes on my list.

And other stuff, too...

Here's my list (I am also impossible to shop for cuz I hate it when people get me stuff that I can't use or don't like)...

* New T-shirts, polo shirts, jeans, etc. (I hate clothes shopping)
* American Wedding Widescreen unrated DVD (it'll be late since it doesn't come out til January 2)
* Anything meaningful from whoever

What I definately don't want (cuz they don't mean jack)
* anything bowling related (I got bowling shoes for Valentines Day from my ex-girlfriend Natalie... I've used them like 5 times, cuz there isn't any nearby bowling alleys)
* anything *not* me whatsoever

I'm hoping for a trip to Cedar Point. It was actually my mom's idea, so I think that will be my big gift.

Go for the SST 6. I have those spiffy red shinny ones and they're great. It was a whole paycheck on my crappy salary, but I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of them.
