I wasn't ever really scared of them, but I still used to get some anxiety (sp?) going up the lift hill. When I became an enthusiast, though, all fear was lost. Now I can't even get my stomach to flip going down the first drop. If it does happen, it's because there's air on the drop, but before I was an enthusiast, it would happen all of the time.

I was late to becoming a coaster freak. I started around 3-4 years ago.

I was scared of coasters with inversions until a few years ago when I went on Rock N Roller Coaster. It was a blast, and I had the time of my life, and since no "fear".

Part of my "fear" had to do with heights. I didn't ride Magnum or Mean Streak, but finally broke out of my shell when a friend said to ride at least one. I got on both, left smiling, and ride them whenever I visit. This was 1992 or 1993 I think.

Same as me.

I'll never "loose" my fear though.

I was a little nervous about going on thunder mountain railroad, which was my first coaster, but afterwards I became an enthusiast.

Care to edit this post and put something meaningful in it? Why did you even bother making this thread if you didn't want to say anything in it? A post with a period is spam and that's not allowed. Go back and edit it, please.

And it's "lose," not "loose." Lose is when something of yours is lost. Loose is something not restrained or tight, like when you wear pants without a belt. Got that?

That is a huge problem in the south. SFOG even has it on a few of their signs.

It all started at Disney World on Thunder Mountain....... Then worked my way up. My first really big coasters were Kumba and Montu at BGT.

Sometime between 1992 and 1996. 92 was the last time I visited the park until I got my driver's license in 96. When I went then, I had no real fear of any of the rides.

I was never really scared of any. I was a lil scared of Space Mountain only because I thought it was pitch black and I hated that. I was 6 or so at the time when I first rode it. I was never scared of Thundr Mountain. My first inverter was Python which was only because Kumba was closed. My second inverter was Kumba because it opened right aftar I rode Python so I forced my brother to go on it who didn't want to. He is 2 years older than me, and I think he was a bit afraid to ride it so quickly. I made him go on it and he liked it. I think I was 11 at the time. I was 11 because it was the first time I had gone to a park with an inverting coaster in it. So I have never been afraid of them big masses of metal...

I was scared until 1999 when I took a trip on Kumba and vowed not to close my eyes. Ever since then I have been obsessed with coasters....

I lost my true fear of coasters after riding the Steamin' Demon at the Great Escape in Lake George, NY. I was scared so much of that ride, and after stepping off the train, i wasnt so scared of them anymore.

I wish I had some fear at some point to overcome. I've been riding them ever since I was tall enough.

I never had a fear. It was in me. I'm kind of dysfunctional child, well, I think we all are.

I had a fear of coasters, until about the time I was 11 and went to Dorney Park with my summer camp. With a lot of fear, I got on Lazer, and found to my shock, that I enjoyed it. From then on, I got progressively less afraid and can now ride anything.

For as long as I can remember I have always been infatuated with rollercoasters and other rides but it wasn't until I was 8 when I rode Space Mountain (my first) which isn't really much, so I'd say it was my first trip to CP when I was about 9-10 when I got hooked on coasters.

After I rode Windjammer Surf Racers at Knott's in Spring of 1997, it all went downhill. I love that ride because of that (and also because it was so aesthetically stunning).

When I was 13...my best friend made me get on The Beast and ever since then I've loved coasters, so I've only been liking them for a few years now.

It had to go back to 1991 when I had visted Cedar Point for the seccond time(first time as a way little kid in the 80ties lmao). I had been on coasters at the time when Geauga Lake was around. For some reason after riding of the costers(cant recall what one), i swore up and down that i would never go back on one.

Well back to 1991 they were able to drag me on some of the rides. Then came mean streak and Magnum xl 200. I had finially had the guts to get in line for both. Mean streak wasn't bad for me but it was when I got to the Magnum line is where I got really scarred. We waited a good 45 minutes at night. So then we got to the platform and where did they place me lmao ya right in the front seat. Real nice of my friends you know. So here is me holding on for dear life screaming and saying just about everything in the book hahahah. Then from the lift down I wasnt screaming in fear i was screaming cause i was finially enjoying somthing i had feared for so long. Since then I was like let them built it, I will be there waiting hehehehe. 9 years later i am on the same lift hill that i swoar i never be on.

Let's see...

I rode Space Mountain at WDW when I was about 8 and it freaked me out totally!

I didn't get on another adult coaster until I was about 15, and rode Mindbender at Sfog. I was pretty much hooked after that

I've seen some people freak out before getting on coasters too. One time I was on Carolina Cyclone, and this guy was black and he was turning white, literraly! from fear. He was shaking and they took him off. He hadn't even gotten on the train yet. I'm glad he freaked out before, and not on the ride. lol

I remember the first time I went on a coaster, I was about six, and I was so scared. But my fear subsided when I went to BGW one year and road BBW.. I loved BBW eventually I grew to love just about any coaster.
