There are a lot of coasters that never get the attention they deserve. One of these is the Georgia Scorcher! I hear everyone snickering but it is one of my favorite rides!

Mr. Twister II at Elitch Gardens in Denver. I heard it was terrible compared to the originial Mr. Twister. But I loved Twister II. Especially the tunnel. And it's neat to have that huge central courtyard that everything surrounds.

I've noticed that the Georgia Schorcher does not get alot of attention. Why I don't know. Some other coasters I can think of that don't get alot of attention are KATUN, DRAGON KHAN, and I also noticed that out of the speed coasters that RAGING BULL gets the least credit. I hate when awesome rides dont get the credit they deserve!!!

How about Chang? It sounds awesome! I wouldn't know though (hence the underrated tag)

i think raging bull at SFGAM (six flags great america) and viper at SFGAM. They are so awesome yet t.v. specials for parks and coasters don't even mention it.

Top Gun at Paramount's Carowinds. It is my favorite out of Volcano, Alpengeist, Raptor, and Batman. It is my third favorite coaster because the speed is tremendous with amazing G forces and incredible smoothness.

I'd have to go with Shockwave at SFOT. It has excellent positive G forces in the loops and great airtime on the hills following. What a classic.

Great topic!

Some of the best underrated coasters are overshadowed by flashy, but inferior, rides in the same park.

Take, for example, the Hersheypark Wildcat. That's the best coaster in the park for my money, but it doesn't get any attention sitting across from the gorgeous Lightning Racer. Lightning Racer rides like a kiddy coaster compared to Wildcat.

I'll get roasted for this next one, but here goes. Gemini at Cedar Point, which I've always found to be more fun than it's neighbor, Magnum XL-200. Maybe it's the shorter queues on Gemini.

One last underrated gem: Big Bad Wolf, which is proof that superior design can overcome inferior technology. It's a suspended coaster, so by all rights it should stink. But it's a blast anyway.

Amen! I think Gemini is one of the funnest coasters I've ever ridden, but Magnum was just...boring. Very dissapointing.

Oh by far Grizzly at PKD is the most underrated coaster around. In my opinion its the only good coaster in the park. I think the main reason it doesn't get a lot of attention is because Grizzly at PGA is terrible.

the tower of terror at dreamworld australia
it's the sister of superman: the escape and never gets mentioned, even though it was the FIRST coaster to break the 100mph mark

I hear that, B&MAaron. Grizzly at PKD is terrific! The best part is that after the first drop, the ride slows to a crawl for a second and you expect the rest to be tame. Ha! You spend the rest of the ride in mortal fear of being decapitated. Best head-chopper ride I can think of.

[ This Message was edited by: Dr. Insanity on 2001-05-05 22:31 ]

I think thunder hawk at dorney is underrated. the thing has awesome air time. I also find the mighty canadian mine buster to be one of the best woodies i have riden. it is very smooth with major air time. if it was not in canada it would be considered awesome

Jeremy you are right. I love the loops and the airtime. It is cool going over the go-karts.

Wow I'm suprised a couple of you like the Grizzly at PKD. I rode it and didn't think that highly of it. I am going to ride it again this summer. I'll give it another whirl. This also happened on my first ride on Goliath at Magic Mountain. I didn't think much of it until I rode it again. I think it was the 3hr wait. Anyway's Most underrated coaster. Okay here goes: Volcano at PKD. Man that is the most awesome invert I have ever been on. But it doesn't seem that anyone agrees. Maybe it's just me.... Thats okay I still love that ride.

Drachen Fire, all people do is complain about how rough it was for them to ride.

Good topic:

RAMPAGE at Visionland. Did not know what to expect, and it totally impressed me. Especially the 2nd half. And in the dark..WHOA!!

WILDCAT at Hersheypark. Again, looked great and rode even better. And I love the attention to detail in the station. Just a gorgeous coaster and work of art.

The VILLIAN at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure (The park formally knows as Six Flags Ohio and Geauga Lake.) Nice design, great speed, and I like the cars. Better than PTC rolling stock and those uncomfortable individual locking bars.

The CYCLONE at Williams Grove. Man, it took me about 4 hours to find this park after leaving Dutch Wonderland. It is located in the middle of NOWEHERE! And the coaster itself sits back in the woods. But it is fun, rickety, and unassuming. If you are in the area, check it out!

The GIANT DIPPERS at San Diego and Santa Cruz. You can't go wrong with twister coasters on a boardwalk overlooking the ocean.

Thre HURLERS at Carowinds and PKD. Nice design, fun, fast, great theming, and the safety video in the station with Mike Myers. Do they still have that? I had heard they removed all Waynes World references.

And finally GEMINI. Yup, it was my first BIG coaster back when it opened in 1978 and still remains what every coaster should be: F-U-N!!

I think WildFire at SDC was extremely underated, it deserves better, but Nitro and Titan took all the wows this season.

Raging Bull is defianetly the most underrated coasted compared to Nitro and Apollos Chariot (WOW WERE OUT AND BACK COASTERS HOW BORING ARE WE - GOD THAT MAKES ME MAD )At least Raging Bull ads some spice to it. You know gives it a little twist. Its also the only one of its kind.-STEEL-HYPER-TWISTER

I would say Riddler's Revenge @ SFMM is under-rated as well. People say it's boring because it goes too slow through the inversions. To that, I say, that's its novelty (can't think of a better word). The hangtime through the inversions is just amazing. And it's on a stand-up!

even though alot of people talk about it online, nobody ever says anything about dueling dragons. it wasn't mentioned for a second on the backstage at universal orlando special.

Drachen Fire and The Big Bad Wolf are underrated...People hear the word PAIN..they run from Drachen Fire...When they hear the word SHORT, they pass over The Big Bad Wolf..i think its an insult to both coasters ,which are really great coasters

Everyone is bragging about how GOLIATH has the most G's but it doesnt! Texas Tornado does, It pulls an amazing 6.5 G's! No Joke!

I really thought that the Big Bad Wolf sucked. The only decent arrow suspended ive been on was Iron Dragon, even that was all that great. but the most underrated coaster is GEMINI. that coaster is just SO MUCH FUN!

Boulder Dash, Lake Compounce. A really fun ride, but at a park that doesn't get a lot of attention.

I also liked Gemini at CP, but didn't ride it enough to get a good feel for it.
