Just to remind everyone...
Parks must be RCT1 (expansion packs allowed) or RCT2 (no expansion packs)
They must be no bigger then 100x100.

For the November contest we have a Greco-Roman theme. The theme is actually very broad, there's a lot you can do.
You can theme a park to the Trojan War, maybe make a giant fortress for Troy with dueling coasters, Achilles and Hector.
You can base a park on ANY Greco-Roman myth, the wanderings of Odysseus, the labors of Hercules, the journey of Aeneas, the quest for the Golden Fleece, Perseus and Medusa, Theseus and the Minotaur, the Titans, a park themed to Olympus...
You can make a park based on the Olympics, that would be fine.
A park themed to Rome or Athens, either in historical times or in the present day. You can even do a futuristic themed park with a Greek or Roman twist. As long as it is clearly associated with Greece or Rome, it's perfectly acceptable. Remember, waterparks work too.

Also, the November contest will be the last chance for the first Winner's Circle competition in the first week of December. If you don't enter this time, your next chance to win a $50 gift certificate to Amazon.com won't come until February.

In the event of any confusion, I stress that RCT3 is NOT allowed for the November contest.

So basically what you do is theme a park to Roman/Greek basically. You just have a choice to theme it modern Roman, but you don't have to.

When are they do Aaron?

New TNPP Details

The TNPP staff just had another meeting. We got a lot of things decided, and here they are.

Firstly, we decided that RCT3 will not be allowed for the December contest, as we feel not enough members have it yet. However, it will be allowed for January and February, and all future competitions.

We decided on the themes for the next three months. I encourage everyone to try to enter as many of the contests as they can, so I'll tell you all the themes now.
  • December: We're giving you a choice this time. You can do something that involves winter and the December holidays, Christmas, Hannukah, and Kwannza (I have no idea how to spell that). However, you can also do a New Years themed park.
  • January: Make the best Six Flags themed park you can. This is not a recreation contest. Instead, build a park in the style of Six Flags (clones, rides with generic names, Batman and Superman theming, etc.). Use your imagination.
  • February: The Academy Awards are in February, so in honor of them, the theme will be movies. Theme a park to a studio, a movie or a movie series, you can even do a history of movies. Anything related to the movie industry will do.
We've upped the maximum size limit to 128x128. Parks can now range between 50x50 and 128x128.

Expansion packs for RCT2 are still not allowed.

We also really want to spread the word about the contest. If you've got an idea, let Kyle L, Graham, Phil, or myself know. Don't go out and spam the other message boards, but let us know if you have a suggestion on how we can draw attention to the TNPP. Remember, the grand prize is $50 dollars to Amazon.com, that's pretty good just for making a park.

Any questions, send us an email, PM, IM......or just post them below.

When is the December theme park due? I might enter a park, but I will be very busy traveling everywhere and things.

Oh yeah, it's Hanukkah and Kwanza.

Actually, you can spell it Hanukkah, Hannukah, Channukah........Hebrew always transfers to English in multiple forms.

In keeping with the idea of the contest ending seven days before the end of the month, let's say around December 24.

I have already started the January park, and have built the entrance, and the first coaster, Superman Ultimate Steel Escape.
EDIT: The park is 100X100.

I need to stress something here for all our TN members.

Thrillnetwork is giving away 50 dollars worth of merchanidse towards Amazon.com. I know you are proabobly aware of this, but, we being the staff, we want lots of input from the members. In the earlier poll asking who was interested, we had great amounts and great intrest going in. We brought it back, we organized it, and we offer you a great prize. What are you waiting for?

I am happy many of you submitted parks, but for those that don't think they have a shot, or don't think its worth it, submit your park and give it a shot! Even if you get 3rd, you still have bragging rights. Anyone can win and make a fantastic park. So get to work, submit your park, and win 50 bucks. How easy could that be?

That is so true. I mean hello! $50 for just making a park! You do that normally for leisure time, so why not just turn it in, no matter how good it is because you'll still have a chance at it!

That's great!

WOW, that's a long time to work on a park. I can't wait to see it because it must be good. I need some Christmas theming because I have like none.

I am nearly half way done with the January park already. Although I am terrible at theming parks, this would should turn out rather good, as I still have a month and a half to do it!

The winner's circle is the three winners of each month's TNPP contest. September October, and November. Each person that wins, three total of course, is put in the Winner's Circle voting which is held by the members only. I believe Aaron said it will end on December 10th and a winner will be announced.

The December parks start a new three month competition.

Actually, it should start any day now because the November contest voting just ended, and if the voting for the TNPP's winner's circle end's on the 10th, any day now they should start.

Because first thing, a lot of people don't have them, and I'm sure some of the staff doesn't have them (I know Aaron doesn't have TT). Then, people wouldn't be able to view other parks. Thus causing less uploads and voting.

Also, RCT3 will come later because not as many people have it now and more will after Christmas.

Hope that helps.

Just un-install WW or TT and make a park. It's worth it. Plus, with all of the custom scenery it'll make up for them.

bk got it exactly. From a personal standpoint, I'd like to see the expansions for RCT2 permitted, as they do have SOME good scenery in them, and the new ride cars are pretty neat. However if we allowed them, few people would be able to view submissions made with them. Because we want these parks available to as many people as possible, so we can get lots of votes, we can't allow WW or TT.
We do allow expansions for RCT1, though, because anyone with enough interest in the game to download a park from the internet most likely has CF and LL.

Is everything still on track for the Winner's Circle voting? Aaron, didn't you say the results would be in by the 10th? So does that mean tomorrow we will know who won?

Yes, it's still going on, and the results will be posted tomorrow, assuming, of course, we don't end up with a tie.....

Ok sounds good. So, today they will be posted, right?

A tie, I would think one park would rise above them all.

I'm keeping the poll open a little while longer just to make sure everyone who wants to vote gets the chance. I promise you that the results will be up by 6 Pacific this evening.

Hey guys, I am seeking out to get a few more suggestions. Since we aren't seeing a huge turnout as we wanted to, I want to ask a simple question.

Is there anything on the rules that prevents you from entering the contest?

By this I mean, do the "No Expansion Packs" prevent you from entering a park? Or is it too big? Or do you just don't have the time to make a park?

Feedback is GREATLY appreciated. We really want to get a lot of you RCT players going. We just want to see if we can cater to your ideas a little more.

No expansion packs is a little bit of a setback. I would've entered the December contest if I could use some of the winter theming.
Also, are hacked rides allowed? If they are not, it can be hard, as I ussually do use hacked rides in my parks.
