| Bug: uploading photos with periods in file name
When uploading photos to the park/ride database, I encountered a problem where my submissions were rejected with an "Illegal File Type. Must be JPEG(JPG) or PNG." message. This happened even though the files in question were JPEG files and below the file size limit. Someone else reported the same problem in the photo contest topic. By experimenting, I found that trying to upload the following file names failed: dragon.coaster.jpg, dragon.coaster.JPG But, I was able to upload by renaming the photo to: dragoncoaster.jpg So, I think that there's a bug in Thrillnetwork's upload code such that file names containing period characters "." are improperly disallowed. The code is probably checking to see if the file ends in .jpg, .jpeg, or .png, but instead of checking after the last period in the name, it checks after the first period. Of course, perhaps you intentionally wanted to disallow period characters (and maybe other special characters) in file names. If so, you might want to post the naming rules on the upload page or in the FAQ.

It's been fixed and tested.
