| What does '404 Not Found' mean?
When I go to the database main page, and try to log in where it says "Please login or register to take advantage of these features!", the page that comes up says "404 Not Found". I cleared my cookies and tried again. I did this several times on three different browsers (IE, Opera and the site-sponsored Firefox) and across two different PCs. I searched the FAQs but nothing came up regarding this 404 business. What gives? oh that's right, 404 isn't an end-user problem, its a problem on the server - the file does not exist. I could fight this thing all day and it won't appear. Of course, it would be easy to just fix the link on the db home page, since the problem is that the link is relative and not absolute. I'm guessing it wouldn't take more than 5 minutes to fix, is your schedule really that packed? eh, it is easier just to tell people to login from the main site since that works and doesn't require any work. Take care - Joe, who is up past midnight because he doesn't have a job or a social life, not because he simply doesn't follow the traditional 9-5 or anything... |

Actually logging on from the main site does work better than trying to log in in various spots on these boards. I really don't know why you have such a beef all of a sudden. If you have a problem with the staff here, you can do us all a favor and hit the log out button, make sure you hit it twice, so as to log out completely from the site, then click on that red square with the white X at the top right of your browser.

Without being an ass, Joseph... Thank you for at least giving some direction, with providing where to look. Otherwise, all I can assume is the register/login links at the top of each page when not logged in, which do work. I took a whole 2 minutes out of my life and fixed the issue and tested it just for you (in reality, I just fixed it instead of making a huge stink to the person who made the mistake with those links to begin with, since I didn't make it, and it was a simple fix). Now you can stop being an ass, because people who are an ass make me act like one back.
