Firefox at the top???

Why is there like a link to firefox on the top next to speedzone? I noticed that last week. It doesn't bother me, but I am just wondering why it is up there. Probably for some advertising. I have no idea.

Yeah, more than likely is. Pretty creative and catchy if you ask me.

The good thing is that it's not annoying at all. We need more adds like that where they are hidden sort of.

We put that there ourselves. Since members in the past have complained about spyware, popups, etc. We're taking the initiative and offering a browser with superior pop-up blocking, better security, etc.

Several of the staff members use it (myself included) and that is our way of encouraging others to think about switching, especially with all of the security holes IE has.

I see. So it is kinda like advertising, but In a different way. lol. I think I might switch to FF. I am using Avant now and I like It a lot. So It might be hard to change. I have used FF in the past. So. It might not hurt.

What's interesting is that Mozilla hasn't had to pay for one cent of advertising. It's all either been word-of-mouth or donated (monetarily or just outright donated, much like ours).

In addition, you go to firefox.com, and you get a thank you page with a link to the actual firefox site. The owner of the domain actually donated it to the Mozilla Foundation. When you try internetexplorer.com, you get some funky popup-laden advertising site.

I switched over the FireFox from Internet Explorer, and I like it a lot better. Somethings still seem to bother me, but I like how everything doesn't plug into Firefox. Like "Search Helper Bar" or some crap you may pick up without even trying. Still not liking the download system, but overall, I'm all about simplicity when I use the computer, and FireFox is easily the easiest and best to use.

I reccomend FireFox. If you need some help on wondering what its like, I can show you.

The download system can be annoying, and plug in's don't work, so you can't watch things that require WMP, QT, etc.

We're developing a TN plugin for Firefox for a search.

Firefox is much better. took me a while to get it to work with a proxy proprerly, but now i got it on all computers.

The best thing about it is messenger dosn't start automatically when you go into hotmail (something that really anoyed me; MS response was something like "well your'll do what we tell you").

All the other MS 'auto' stuff dosn't work either; might bother some people but i think its great - i don't want stuff running unless i want it to............
