New idea! V.I.P message bord.

I have an idea that thrillnetwork makes a V.I.P message bord area for peaple that have like 700 post and that have at least 15 coasters or parks uploaded to speedzone. if they have that the send a PM to the person in charg of the V.I.P area to see if they can join. If the staff thinks they can join the v i p area they can post in that forum but if they get a warning that they are spaming or starting flam wars they get kicked out and they cant come back. mod what do you think?

That seems kind of biased to those who only post in the forums and in speedzone.

What if they frequently contribute to the database? What if they were in chat a lot? How would you propose resolving that?

Also, what would be the purpose of the VIP forum? By that what would you talk about? What can be talked about in this forum that cannot be talked about anywhere else on this site?

Also, there are many people that are active in the forums but don't upload on SZ. Not everybody has NL or RCT(believe it or not).

The only way I could see this working is if you became a VIP if you donated to the site by buying clothes or having 1000 or more posts or things like that, so that you could buy your way into the VIP area. But then the VIPs would have to benefit from it, so maybe put up a videos section and only let VIPs DL. But, then theres the space and bandwith issue.

TN can get very slow at times as it is. I wouldn't want to be part of a forum that only had a few dozen members who fit into that category.

I will find other things that would be in the vip area but for now just ponder it.

The video section, which we are in the early stages of planning, will actually be on another server (the site hosted on one server, the videos on another, and the db for the videos on a 3rd). In addition, we're now in the process obtaining server hardware for TN, which will then get sent to me to install all the stuff. Once we get that straight, it should go a lot faster.

I'm working on videos. You should see one from me uploaded to the current server in the next week or so. (I gotta clear up one thing). I plan on doing lots of videos for TN. I love to edit, capture, modify videos. We just need a solid host for them. (Available to download, not only just stream.)

A VIP board eh? That would de-grade the entire forum. Thats just my idea though, I'm on the plan where I think everyone has the same privlages...

Sweet, are you going to accept vids from users if they go through a mod? I've got POVs and offrides from SFStl, SFGAm, CP, and BGT. I love editing too, Timing to a song is so much fun!

We're in the early stages of design yet and I can't answer those questions just yet. We're toying with multiple ways of submitting these.
