I think the person was referring to the Deja Vus because they really are a type of suspended roller coaster. Plus, NBC newspeople have no knowledge in roller coaster terminology to use the term 'Giant Boomerang' or 'Inverted Roller Coaster'.

first of all these news people are usually not experts on ecclectic topics and can usually be more right than they are. But i still think that the world desparately needs a large fast suspended w/ open air trains

Right now, The Vekoma Super Invertigo is the tallest Inverted coaster at 196 feet. It is also the tallest Inverted Shuttle coaster.

The fastest INVERTED coaster is the one opening at Fantasy Island in England. Its a hyper vecoma custom SLC. It will hit 75 mph. Volcano is currently the fastest. The fastest SUSPENDED coaster I believe is Big Bad Wolf but I may be incorrect.

Actually, according to RCDB.com, currently the fastest inverted rollercoasters are Valcano and Superman Ultimate Escape.

I see a problem here. A suspended coaster is one that hangs under the track and swings freely from side to side, while an inverted coaster hangs under the track, but does not swing freely.
What is the fastest suspended coaster?

Because the swinging motion I believe would send people crashing into eachother and the sides of the car with only a lap bar.
