FOXNews Report

Just saw on "The Fox Report With Sheperd Smith" a short news story regarding rollercoaster safety. About what you'd expect from the news, but I did get to see Markey for the first time. They also had on someone from the amusement park industry (forget his name). Let's just say that Markey came off as not quite as bright, and definitely didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about.

Of course, the coolest part to the story was some awesome footage of X!

I'm going to FOXNews website to see if they have any more on the story.

Raging Bull #1 fix your sig! This sounds like it was a neat report. Was it FOR roller coasters or AGAINST roller coasters? :flip:

Nice coaster footage. Seeing X in action makes me want to take a trip to SFMM right now! But first I'm going to Massachusetts to kick Markey's a$$!

That inverted B&M inverted coaster looks like a awesome ride. Is that Talon?

Ok Markey came off like he really did not have any idea what he was talking about. I swear, his arguments are never going to hold up...

Interesting segment. I think that the fed needs to stay out of this. The states seem to be doing a fine job of watching the industry on their own. Every time the feds get into something, they end up creating a mass of paperwork and expense.

Hehe I saw it and I have to say Markey looked stupid. The report was a little more FOR coasters then against but it provided both sides of the argument. And yes, that was talon in there. X looked great and markey sounded stupi9d, what more could a coaster enthusiast ask for? (don't answer that it's hypothetical)

Markey, what a show. If he ever makes some sort of public announcement about coasters, all of us should be sure to be there, and just proove him wrong. I also noticed a lot of footage on Goliath, but there are reasons for that in the words of Markey. No need to worry, there is only one of him and his few supporters and 1 million of us.

well foxnews is really conservative, so they wouldnt really support marky's approach b/c he is a democrat and they are mainly the ones trying to regulate the coasters

BTW, FOXNews is not conservative. It's just that the major networks and CNN are so far left that, relative to them, FOXNews seems to be to the right. I watch it because I don't feel like they're insulting me like the networks. Plus Bill O'Reilly kicks ass!

It looks like the tides have turned in the coaster wars this off season! Not to long ago, Markey had the whole GP and news brainwashed, but now........ between him sounding dumb, congress thinking he's insane, and SF giving him a little "education" smack down, it seems like the coasters are kicking Ed's butt! *hopes that Marky doesn't get reelected*

When does Markey's term end? Hopefully he'll LOSE!!!!! HAHAHAHA! : )

That'd be so great. You know O'Reilly would tear him up!! I can see it now.
O'Reilly: Since I'm so nice, I'll give you the last word.
Markey: Tha-
O'Reilly: And, when we come back to the Factor...

I love Shepard Smith. Especially when he makes liberals look like idiots, wait, idiots and liberals...it seems like there's some sort of connection there, I just can't put my finger on it.

Markey is just trying to pass some legislature in his name.. Out of all the things in the world he decided to pick on the amusment park idustrie...... He is trying to make rollercoasters seem like some type of killing machine.. There rollercoaster not cars! or trains!... I think that a peice of legislation like that would be so idiotic... Its like saying make achohol eligal.... I dont think he can pass the law becuase some bigshot int he amusment park idustry will see it that it dose not happen. Just think about going to a park and seeing some wildmouse coasters a boomerang with trim brakes just allowing it to go trou the the cercit and seeing alot of todays rollercoasters close down... not going to happen he joined in on the whole concpert of trying to pass the legislature too late!.... just like record labels trying to stop music from being burned off the internet etc.... (imagine seeing a rollercoaster comershal and it saying the only rollercoaster thats gets as fast as the law can get it!) (not going to happen)

The largest states with the most represenitives all have major ammusement parks and that is a huge source of income for them.

Cal.
Fl.
Ohio.
Even New York and other Eastern states.
(Not that any of the other states wont fight.)

Plus he would have to take on Cedar Fair, Six Flags, Busch, Universal, and worst of all, Disney.

Thats a lot of big names to fight.

its a perfect example of how this goverment doesnt seem to work. this form of gov is supposed to give states power over most internal affairs, such as an amusment park, rather than have a dominating federal gov't. however, the fed always finds a way to get around how things should work... anyway, I really dont think that they will put a ban on type of ride because it brings in tax money.
