The new restaints seem to be B&M's lastest over the shoulder harnesses. Perhaps SFGAM just wanted more comfortable restrainsts for Iron Wolf.

I don't know exactly why they changed Iron Wolf's restraints.. but there is something funny about the new ones... If you look on the seat belt latch it says "For Marine Use Only" .... Boy, B&M Sure makes some good water rides then :)

Hopefully the new restraints will make the ride a bit more comfortable. I thought they would just add completely new trains eventually. On the Riddler's Revenge trains, the seatbelt buckles also say "for marine use only," which is weird. Someone around here must have the story behind that. Anyone? |

Did anyone notice how that kid in the front right of the train in the last link was "standing"??? Look at that kid! How can you get yourself in that position? I hope (s)he wasn't like that the whole ride. One more thing: there's a section of track after the part going through the loop that looks weird. The spine is sorta lower than the other parts. Was there going to be a brake or two there or what? I've noticed that on brake runs, the spine is similar to that. The pic I'm referring to is this one. :flip:

actually, im sure they did this with all early b&m stand ups just to update the ride. vortex @ pga was updated with those new restraints awhile, so im guessing so were the other coasters. the seatbelts are just an extra precaution.

Chang at SFKK's restraints also say for marine use only so I'm pretty sure all B&M stand ups have those.

Wouldn't recommend doing this thru the ride. And I do believe there used to be a small trim brake on that section of the ride where the flat is. After you drop off the flat you go into the corkscrew.

well well well Harnesses get pretty greasy, skanky, whatever. When I worked at CHILLER and a side broke down for the day, sometimes we'd wash the cars with spray. The harnesses, with people's wet and sweaty hair and face touching it, became pretty grimy. The harnesses really get worn, too much head contact, hehehe. I think on Medusa I saw a chunk ripped out of a harness and one with an autograph done with a Sharpie marker.

and because after a while restraints can wear and tear and they could possibly become unsafe.

The old restraints look cool, but I guess the new ones are better for the train and saftey, I guess

I think they say "navy use only" because those buckles might be made from a company that makes those buckles for Navy seatbelts. B&M may have wanted some heavy duty seat belts so why not get some heavy duty Navy ones.

The ones on Riddler say "For Marine Use Only." I don't think they say Navy, Lancelot. You and others are confusing Marine with a branch of the military and saying Navy. I'm sure they say Marine use only, marine being of or relating to the sea. It's not a military-strongness thing, it's just that they are for use in the ocean, so they're stainless steel so they won't rust, and they're strong. It's all safety.
