| Old NOVA Coaster Show
I pulled out one of my old NOVA tapes on video that I taped back in 1992. It had Ron Toomer on there with Arrow and they followed the construction of Drachen Fire! It was funny to see the grand opening of a ride that now is closed and gone. 1992 does seem pretty far away! :flip:

Holy!!! You have that tape! I saw that one in school! it has hardly any coasters, right, it mostly has disney simulators and is mostly about them, i thought it was going to be a rollercoaster video! the only good part was Drachen Fire! poor Drachen fire now it's down.....just making sure, do they have that physics guy, and this bowling bowl, and the girl moves away when it returns.

I've probably seen it, I just don't remember. What else was in the video? I doubt it centered on the opening of Drachen Fire.

WHOA! i saw that in school also, just a month or two ago before our cedar point trip. It also said that at that time magnum was the world's tallest coaster. It is ironic though that Ron Toomer talks about all the computer technology used to make sure Drachen Fire would be a safe ride. It was cool that they got Dana Carvey to be at the opening ceremony for it, at least that turned out better than Apollo's Chariot. hehe

I thought I was the only one who still had that tape! Is that the one that shows the "pipeline" I think it is. They built a short piece of it outside of their shop. THAT make it worth seeing! |

I got that video from my county library. It also features rides like Grizzly @ PKD and a couple others, I believe. It is kinda weird to see truckloads of Drachen Fire Track beofre it was built.

I have a few old ones, but thier all pretty recent. They most modern coaster on the show was Raptor. Which I guess you can account to as "old" but what really amazes me is that Magnum came out in 1989 and it still is geting good reveiws. well at least I like it!

This video was produced before Raptor opened. I believe there was also a snipet of the "radically new" Batman at SFGAM.

Check at a library. I found it at mine when I wasn't even looking for it.
