I have heard that it will include coaster elements and is supposed to be as technologically advanced as Spiderman.

Hmm, a motion simulator plus coaster put into one. This ride is really going to be a mystery. Sounds very similar to WDW's Mission Space though, only with different themes.

It talked about LIMs in an article I read about it. Supposedly it will launch you forwards and backwards. And why would they use Premier if it wasnt going to be a coaster

Sounds like it'll be a pretty amazing ride. I think it would be awesome if they had elements too. Like it looks like you are going to hit a wall of someone is flying at you, then you pull up into a loop or immelman. That would be awesome.

RCDB says it's a coaster http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail2232.htm
but they don't have anymore info than that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Like we ever do that!

i have heard all of these things, but the first place i heard about it was at Screamscape, and people have been talking about the elements and that it will spin and stuff. I hope it doesnt spin then you cant focus on the different things in the ride. I wonder why they havent said how fast they are going to launch it, i dont think it will be fast because it says they will launch it from sence to sence. so it will probably just be a boost to get you to each sence and element. but i dont know, they didnt give us enough details, unfortunaly.

What is Mission space suppose to be just a simulator or both a simulator and rollercoaster?

Or the luanch could be used to get you to a certain height before running you past those cool-look'n screens.

here is the news from screamscape:

(5/19/03) “3000 Years In The Making”... The Mummy will return in 2004. Universal has described the new ride as a fusion of “Roller Coaster Technology, Space Age Robotics and “Live” Pyrotechnic Special Effects”. The rides in both Hollywood and Florida will be similar, though it is clear that the space available in Florida will allow for a much bigger ride. The ride itself will indeed feature LIMs to propel the car from scene to scene, both forward and backwards it seems. All the while you will be haunted by ‘the most advanced animatronics ever engineered”. They are keeping the ride’s story under wraps for now as well as a few surprises they want to keep close to the vest until it opens. “unsuspecting guests will be swept into a terrifying underworld of ancient Egypt awash in deadly curses, powerful forces of nature and vengeful creatures intent on wreaking havoc. Adding to the terror will be the mystery of two of the ride’s scenes, which will not be made public until the attraction debuts.” One scene they are very proud of however is a room that will have a “ceiling of flame” only inches above you burning at up to 2000 degrees. They also mention that you may not experience the exact same scenic elements each time you ride. One effect that you wont miss however is a large robotic skeleton warrior who will leap onto your vehicle itself. If it is half as good as it sounds, this ride could change the way we look at coasters and dark rides. IOACentral has posted several photos of the front of the building and the signs they have now posted about The Mummy at the bottom of the page and the next. You can also see a couple more photos here.

Personally, I don't think it sounds like a coaster, but they're keeping it so vague who knows how it will turn out. Lots of rides have track between scenic rooms (dark rides, duh) but they're not all coasters.

Ya they probably mean that it has rollercoaster technology because the track and the lims, it probably doesnt have elements like a rollercoaster. it will probably be a slow ride.

It's going to be a dark ride with coaster elements. Premier is the manufacturer.

well what do you mean with coasters elements, because i dont think that there will be inversions, i just think they mean with a coaster track car, and lims.
