air is a lot more consistant than hydraulics and it also has less moving parts. I personally would of rather seen TTD use air, but Intamin didn't want to copy off S&S.

I was there yesterday (8/30) too and waited one hour to ride it. (lucky timing). But watching it test it seemed to me like the reason every trains first launch wasn't making it over had to do with the wheels and wheel bearings. Wouldn't those have to be "warmed up" first? Any experts out there clear this one up. No offense CPFreak, but I don't think they'd need to test the brakes five times? By the way, what were you wearing yesterday?

Well I'm not pulling this from thin air, I asked the ride op why the first time they shoot it over it doesnt' make it but second time it does, and they said htey do it on purpose to check the brakes.

ohh, okay. I was in line once when the launch fired but the train wasn't attacxhed to the launch dog right, and it didn't leave the station. That was an extra 20 minutes taked on to the wait time.

Well it was down for most of the 19th. I got in line at the Soack City entrance at 8 30, watched it test, then ran to the ride and got in line 4 trains away from the front seat. The first train got out to the launch track, the sound came on... went on for a while... then turned off. They did it again and the same thing happened. Two and a half hours later with a line formed from the Queue entrance to corkscrew we elft the station to enjoy the rest of the day. It finally opened later at around 7 15, they weren't filling the queue, instead they decided to let the line run through the midway, which i prefer since it is a lot more scenic than the queue. The line was just over 2 hours long, with one 5 minute breakdown and another 20 minute breakdown while we were 2 trains away (scariest part of the ride, having it break down when you're that close). It was open fine the next day again. Stupid Swiss engineering.
