Top Thrill Late Night Wait

Was any one else on here camped out Saturday night at Dragster? It had about 7 or 8 rollbacks so I was sitting in line till about 1:45 before I got on. The park closed at 12 but I got in line at 11:30 so I got to stay. I was just wondering if anyone else on these forums was there too.

It just felt really creapy going into the park that early and just waiting to go on TTD. Darn downtime.

I'm really surprised that they let it go that late...although I think it was great that they did! Gotta give that ride staff some credit for the extended effort!

Sometimes they'd keep that line open until 1 in the morning!

Once the ride went down around 10:30 a.m. It stayed down until about 10:30 at night. The park was at an 11 p.m. closing. They opened the line really late, and I think people were riding it until they emptied the queue. It might have been open past 1 a.m.

During coastermania. It had the two rollbacks and they transfered off a coaster before the rollbacks.

I was on the second train and after we launch we waited about 5-10 min before we could come back into the station. Was it the 4th train that rolled back? If it was I was siting on the brake run when they took the train off of the track.

^ That happens to TTD alot. It'll stop right before the two block brakes before the unload area.

^They test the ride in the morning or evening when they park opens later with 6 trains and then take one off (usually red). The times I've witnessed this, after a train is taken off, the first train launched makes the course with no problem. The second train then crawls and I mean crawls after it hits the brakes (I've been on one that crawls, it's quite amusing after going 120 mph. Then once it gets to the block it stops and sits there until the pressure builds back up and they can advance the train. Then after that, the ride runs fine. It has to be associated with the fact that they take one train off because it runs fine during the 6 train tests.

There are times when they don't put all the trains on the track in the morning.

They took the red train off the morning of Coaster Mania. Does anyone know why they always take the red train off?

I wish I knew about that one. They might have problems with that one all the time and don't use it.

My guess would be something with the blocks.

More trains means more to worry about sensors and such going offline, meaning more probable downtime.

Something they definitely want to avoid on TTD, especially when you can stack and run 5 trains just as effectively.

I've ridden TTD past 1am. The darn thing kept having problems, which caused delays. By that time, I didn't care so much about the ride as I did getting to bed (still had an hour+ drive home).
