Re-addition of TTD themeing?

Okay, so for some reason, I was looking through Pointpagecannotbedisplayed.net a few minutes ago, and I noticed this picture:

http://www.pointpagecannotbedisplayed.net/gallery/1072.jpg

It struck me as odd because, in general, the pictures on this site are posted with the newest pictures being first, and this was pretty close to the beginning. So I skip to the end to find pictures of the original train with the theming, and I notice that originally, the train had 6 rows of seats as seen here:

http://www.pointpagecannotbedisplayed.net/gallery/708.jpg

However, if you go back and look at the first picture, there are eight rows of seats.

So does anyone have a definative answer on whether or not they put the tires and spoiler back on?

i dont think they are back on.

you cant link a photo that way. it wont show up...
so how far back on the list is the photo?

edit. i found 2 photos that would be "newer" showing the themeing back on.
but i dont know if it really is a new photo.

I don't think they've added it, it would be stupid to add it now and cut capacity when you have the chance of something flying off.

I think they should re-add them somehow, it looks so much better with them, and honestly, it can't be effecting the capacity all that much, now that it is opperating much more smoothly.

Most likely the pictures of them having six rows was from when it opened for the media and the people who won the auction for first ride on it. It only was using four cars, the front car and back car having two rows. The back row had the theming on the back. Then shortly after they added the other car to it, bringing it to 5 cars and eight rows. That's where the pictures for that came from. After the mishap with the tire falling off, they took off the theming from the last car of the train and then added another row bringing it to nine rows for an 18 passenger train. I was there just last month and that's how the train was, 18 passengers and no theming on the back of the train. I doubt that in the last month they added the theming. I don't see when they could've since they've only went to weekends only for the park and I don't think they would make a change like that in the fours days between weekends.

As of 3 weeks ago they had not been added back on. I really do think they should somehow put the spoiler & tires back on, either that or totally re-theme the train.

I think the ride looks a lot better with the total theming but I too dought that they would add it back on. I would take the spoiler though and not the tires if they could do that.

NO! They are just going to add on and make it 460ft....hahahah I wish. But it will be sad to see that sign go. I even remember thinking about how that sign will have to go eventually...but I also figured it would be probably 3 or more years before that would happen. I guess its the same way I felt when this past season (well I guess it's not over yet) the '#1 Steel Coaster' signs wern't up infront of MF. Looks like they'll be back next year though ;)

^ Are you sure the "8" wasn't a "3"? I've neither seen nor heard of TTD getting beyond 124mph.

I liked the look of the themeing through pictures and think it is sad they took it off. I guess it was for safety and to increase the capacity though.

Is the speedometer acually a speedometer? It shows it going 119 but it doesn't make it over the hill.

TTD is capable of alot faster then it goes. Becasue its a prototype (for going that fast) and its at cedar point and the fact that it cant go too fast over the tower they keep it at 120.

^ TTD is capable of going faster because it's at Cedar Point? So if TTD were at PKI, then it wouldn't be capable of faster speeds?

I think it would be smart is CP did something new to TTD, so it could tell the public to come an experience the new ______ because SFGAv is getting Kingda Ka.

Amen Leeloo. I agree with that statement 100%. I too wish we could just get back to fun coasters and not fight over what park has what. There are some other pretty good looking coasters being built next year besides KK.

I didn't say it would be better and more fun if they made some changes, I said it would be smarter. If CP were to minorly change something about their premier ride and tell the public to come and experience the new and improved Dragster, then they could pull in a lot more guests than if they didn't.

I dont think Kingda Ka is going to effect people coming to the point all that much. Plus, what exactly can they do to it that is big enough to advertise? Just re-theming the trains would looks kind of stupid in an ad.

They would do that next year and not until Kingda Ka opens. There's no reason to change it now while they still have the record.
^ Are you sure the "8" wasn't a "3"? I've neither seen nor heard of TTD getting beyond 124mph.
I know last year in July when it reopened after the long downtime, I saw 125mph and I want to say even 126mph possibly.
A coaster does not have to be a record breaker to be fun!
True, but a record breaker is what can usually draw crowds, thus more money. That's the name of the game....money.

The theming on the trains will most likely never return ever again. After one of the Goodyear tires fell off I doubt any park would ever take a chance by putting them back on. The spoiler is the only thing I could see possibly returning, and that is only if they can figure out how to re-attach it to the back of the trains without taking out that last row.

^One of the tires flew off durring a launch i think it was the start of this year but can't remeber.

Well i still will never understand why the used real dragster tires in the forst place. Just think of how much each of those must have weighed. Don't see why they can put on some fake much lighter weight tires & spoiler just to get back to the origional themeing. It would help out alot.

I thought the same thing last year when I first saw the trains and how much trouble they were having.

Well the little theming like the tires or spoiler on the back shouldn't make that big of a difference. You don't notice them when your riding. I'd much rather have that extra row of seats. Now, if they took out the tower lights and the grandstand, then I think we'd have a problem.
Who's going to break the final record, a coaster that is so "record breaking" that it ends up killing a lot of people.
Are you Ed Markey? :D
Just stop with trying to break records, and just make good, fun, coasters. A coaster does not have to be a record breaker to be fun!
I hear that. They're so focused on building something that breaks some record, they're taking a bit of fun away, Millennnium Force aside. Top Thrill Dragster really doesn't do much for me anyway. Xcelerator's better. Wicked Twister's cool, but I like Steel Venom more.

I think Cedar Point could do much better building a double out and back woodie that's maybe only 120 feet tall. That'd be great.
