Too Embarrassed to Ride...

I find myself too embarrassed to go ride Grover's Vapor Trail at Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pa. This Vekoma Kiddie coaster installed a few years ago became the closest coaster to my house; it's about 6-8 miles away. Since Sesame Place is a kid's ride and water park I can't see myself going there unless I have a family, which I don't have since I'm not married and my sister at 13 is now too old to go there. I don't see myself riding this thing for another 15 years.

Are there any coasters that you may embarrassed to ride? or are you guys as enthusiasts so gun-ho?

I would probably do The Flying Unicorn because IOA is a general admission park unlike Sesame Place, the kiddie park.

I didn't want to ride the roadrunner at GAdv ever really. I think they took it out though.

I think adults are restricted in height on the Roadrunner. I believe it's still there.

It's a short 30 seconds to feel dumb but the ride can be really fun like on Blackbeard's Treasure Train @ SFGADV.

Despite the height, do people feel dumb riding High Roller in Las Vegas?

Why be imbarrassed to ride?
When I was at Universal this year me and my friend went on both Woody's nuthouse Coaster and Flying Unicorn. Nothing to be embarrassed about, the employees usually laugh about it with you (not at you) and talk to you after.

When I tried to ride every ride at CP in one day (see trip report probably buried in the trip reports section by now) I felt real dumb riding all the rides in camp snoopy. A kiddie coaster is one thing, but when your riding balloon race, lolli swings, or the camp bus you feel real silly. Especially since kid's circulars seem to cycle forever!! Still if your willing to have fun about it its not too bad. The parents just give you evil looks when their kids have to wait an extra cycle.

Speedway rocks :D

I have never been embarrassed to ride anything. Many times my friend and I will go into the kids section and ride the monster trucks that go around a small track. I also like to ride the little coasters. If you make the most of it, it can be really fun.

... I was scared before riding my very first coaster... and also a bit for every other coaster before my first ride on it. I haven't ridden really extreme coasters (we don't have really extreme coasters in the Netherlands) so I can't give you my scariest moment.

My brother and I went in the kiddie coaster at Walibi World. I didn't care at all. I wasn't a coaster freak at the time.

I was scared out of my mind when i was about to go on my first SLC but after the first drop it was realy fun, and for my first looping coaster(also my first stand up) i was scared untill i was in the middle of the first loop then it was all fun from there. I was also too scared to ride drop zone last year, hopefully that will change this year ;).

Not that I was scared, but rather embarassed, a tad, when I went on Woodstock's Express at CP a few years ago. Actually a good ride for a kiddie/family coaster, more exciting than the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. And you know something, I got an on-ride photo as well.

I got over that when I had kids. The funny looks LOL Now the kids are getting bigger and it is still fun to go on kiddie rides.

My husband on the other hand would not go on kiddie rides with the kids or without he says they are too cramped and somewhat harder on the back than a regular adult ride with seats made for adults.

I don't get scared or anything. The only time I got scared was when I was 4, and it was my first coaster (sky princess at dutch wonderland), after that I was hooked.

I don't care about being embarassed and I am never scared to ride a coaster. But I did ride the Reptar coaster at PKI. Waited too long for it and that was the only real embarassing part to it all. I usually don't ride kiddie rides becasue I would rather be waiting for The Beast, TTD, The Hulk, or another big coaster. But I also find that some of the funnest times riding a coaster are on the kiddie or mine train coasters. Don't ask why, it is just fun to ride such a slow ride compared to the monster giants.

At this time, Im too scared to ride the skycoaster in oldtown.. which is embarrasing to me.. I just dont feel comfortable being that high up with just the harness and the cables. Im going to get myself to ride it someday though, it looks really fun! I need to ride a shorter skycoaster first to find out if I even like that kind of ride.

I went on Woodstock's Express when I was at CP with a friend. It was a slow day in May and you would've seen two twentysomething guys riding a kiddie coaster. I didn't care too much, it was fun and we actualy stayed on since nobody else was in line and rode twice.

I also ride Whizzer at SFGAM sometimes. While it's not totally a kiddie ride, 90% of those who ride are either small kids or their parents.

I usually am not embarassed if I'm with someone. Back in '01, my uncle and I rode The Gadget coaster at Disneyland six times in a row just for fun.

I rode this one by myself, back seat, with all little kids in front of me and I'm 6'1. I just sat back, lit up a roach and rode it through. Ain't no shame, gotta do your thang.

I've got a 5 year old little brother, so I don't have to worry about this problem. I get and every kiddie coaster and enjoy most of them.

Basically I was trying to say I am not embarrassed to ride kiddie coasters but the unique circumstance of Sesame Place is that the general admission is geared toward families with little kids, unlike Great Adventure where it has areas for older people besides the children areas. Sesame Place is just strictly families/little kids.

I felt dumb going on any kiddie coaster by myself, If it wasn't for this I would ride the other 3 kiddy coasters at Kings Island, besides Top Cat's Taxi Jam.
