Sheikra

Hi There,
I am going to Florida in 3 weeks and i was wondering if anyone has been on Sheikra yet. I',ve been to Busch Gardens before, about 2 years ago, and all the other coasters ROCKED!!!!!, I'm sure it will be fantastic, but if anybody can give me any feedback that would be great.

Thanks.

Sheikra is one of my top 10 coasters, so yeah it's incredible! :D Make sure you get to the park early, though. I don't know what day you're going to the park, but if it's during the week of July 4th, expect a lot of crowds.

If I get there at 9 and leave at 10 on a Wednesday in the end of June, do you think the lines will be that long?

If its like other parks, it'll be 9-12 short lines, 12-6 long lines, 6-10 short lines.

Actually, I will will be in Florida on the 4th July, thanks for the advice about the crowds.
I'm sure everybody will be wanting to go on sheikra, but i don't mind the wait. One time, i waited nearly 3 hours to go on Colossus at Thorpe Park in England, that was during the holidays also.

Thanks for your Feedback :D

Yeah, but on I-4 that can turn into 3 or 4 hours sometimes.

Well, I just went to BGT today (Wednesday), and Sheikra's line was pretty constant at about 30-40 minutes each time. When I went back to it at about 5:40-ish the line was down to 20 minutes-but a little bit before that there was a thunderstorm that lasted for like 5 minutes, so maybe a lot of people left because of that. Everything else seemed to have short lines throughout the day, with the longest being 15-20 minutes for Gwazi. I can't say much for 6-10, because I had to leave at 7. But based on last summer, lines do get shorter during that time period.

From clearwater to Orlando is about 100 miles. Actually from BGT to mid town Orlando say Universal Sea World area is right about 75 to 80 miles. At 85+ miles an hour you can get there pretty quick. Disney to BGT about 65 miles is less than an hour if traffic is flowing. Really its not as far as one would think and the traffic flow is usually 75 to 80 miles per hour. People fly down I-4 it is crazy. If you dont go with the flow they will run you off the road.

^Yeah, I went from the downtown Mariott (Tampa) to Sea World in an hour and 10 minutes. Sea World to BGT is probably an hour or so (faster if you have a lead foot like my dad, but he has a BMW).

ive never timed my way back, but thats because im too tired from getting up early, not sleeping because of excitement on the way there, and a day at BGT wears me out terribly - so usually im sleeping on the way back

Yeah, the water goes through the steel tube and depending on the angle and how large the tube is what depends on how that splash is going to be. I hear that each train has a different splash.

yea, the water goes into the tube and as more water goes in, it has to be forced out causing the water to rocket.

EDIT: yea beat me! ^:)

All the trains each have a different splash...It's unpredictable on how wet you can get spectating the coaster.

Two interesting facts about SheriKra

I had the fortinate experence to watch and talk to one of the mechanics (he was not busy at that time) moving one of the trains to the storage buiding.

1st) the last part before the train enters the station, is where the train moves from bay to bay horzentally.

2nd) The mechanics are actually sub-contractors, and works for a company that was contracted by Busch Gardens.

Incase your wandering the reasion why the train was sent back to the building was because it was not clatching on the left hill. I would of been on that train expect the seat belt was 1 cm short of clicking and the harness already clicked twice. I suggested that next time that they replace the seat belts that they make it larger so more people can fit it it. He agreed, and said, as long as the harness clicks the seat belt should click and will suggest it to the people who makes the parts for the future. I did get to sit in the "bigman" seat with plunty of room to spare.

I noticed that when I went on Sunday (6/12). I found that to be rather unusual. Outsourcing something that is so specialized such as rollercoaster mechanic.

just curious for you guys down in FLA, are they stil doing that REDICULOUS construction on I-4 they were doing back in February?

It took me 2 hours to get to Tampa from western-ish orlando [not complaining. But it took me FIVE to get back [thats complaining]; because of the totally haulted traffic caused by those idiots thinking that 6 o'clock on a friday is a good time to close a road for construction.

^I-4 seems to have always been under construction, and I don't know when or if they're going to be finished.

I'm going to Florida in a week and am going to BGT. I'll be staying on Anna Maria Island which is just outside of the Bay. The best way I see to go is I-75 up to BGT, but I'm not sure. Hows the traffic on this route?
