X is down

last weekend at sfmm the mechanics were doing block check on x.the brakes at the bottom of the first drop were closed to tight and the train went half way up the raven turn then ended up getting stuck at the bottom of the drop.ive been told that x will be down for about 3 weeks.they will have to take the train and put i back together on the transfer track.

You can't really tell If it is valleyed or not in a picture, even if there is no body on the ride. Its a picture.

What's the point of making a thread about this? X valleyed a few weeks ago and it was back up and running in no time. Rides valley more frequently than you think; are you going to make a thread reporting valleyed rollercoasters whenever it occurs?

Why not?
Its not a big deal if a ride stalls out.. But its not bad for someone to make a post about it.. Not EVERYONE stalks tpr for photos now do they?

I was told by Guest Relations that it should be fixed no later than Tuesday.

guest realations has nothing to do with mechanics. they can say what ever they want to make a guest happy.maybe they meant thursday a month from now. lol
i heard it from the mouth of the head mechanic. that its going to take a while to get up and running.plus all the test they have to do to make sure it never happens again.

Montu Man has a good point. Just because guest relations says something doesn't mean it is going to happen, especially with Six Flags.

EDIT:Nice avatar Montu

Actually, I would trust guest relations on this far more than I would trust some guy in Florida who's never been to the park. :P

While I disagree with Chris on whether or not a thread should have been started, he is correct in how long it takes them to fix this. It's far from the first time it's vallied, and it usually takes 2-3 days for them to get it taken care of. I'd be willing to bet that it'll be up and running this weekend with no problem at all.

Do you think guest releations anywhere are really reliable when it comes to giving info about broken down rides? It's their job to say "we are working on it and hope to get it done as soon as possible".

hang n bang, didn't you learn from your Six Flags bashing in the other thread. It would really be nice if you went to at least one of their parks before bashing them ;)

Guest relations can't tell someone when the ride will be open, they can only say we will have it running as soon as possible...

X is down, ah ha, CeDaRPoInTzTeR where are you? I'm calling you out. This is your time to shine, this is what you ask for every day. I remember the good old days before Dragster, before hydra-launches and all their problems were the talk of the town, when ahhh structural fatigue and the such due to huhhhh, trains being too heavy were real reasons for rides to be down. Thank you SFMM, for being a little old school, good night.

^ eh, wot? What kind of gibberish is that?

Just about every coaster out there valley's at some point in time, most several times. A coaster valleying is NOT an unusual happening.

So what if Dragster's closed? The hydro-launch system is new and it's bound to have some bugs. You can't blame Intamin for being adventurous.

Okay, I just wanted to say that. The topic can die now.

/\ We were joking around. :) Commonsense used Dragster's downtime as a refutation point in Cedarpointzer's sneers against X's valleying.

X has vallied yet again this month, grounding the ride so far for all of Fright Fest.

Why must we have a thread every time a coaster breaks down?
