| B&M Hyper vs. Giovanola Hyper
Again a question for you all. Remember the november/december contest of last year? Ellis (ejatwd) and I made a coaster called Wirbelsturm, and one of the comments of the contest guys was that the first part of the track (ejatwd's part) was a "Giovanola part" and my part was the "B&M part". Now I have studied the track but I can't see a major difference between the two parts, except for the fact that the first part is higher and faster, but that is just because it's the first part. Now can you tell me what makes a B&M hyper coaster different from a Giovanola hyper coaster, considering the layout?

Giovanola isn't a G-force wuss and tends to focus on positive G's more.

^ Very true! I notice that Giovanola tends to be more focused on positive G forces while B&M tends to focus more on negative G's. Titan and Goliath have very tight helixes that make up the majority of the ride while rides like nitro and apollo's chariot are more of an out and back layout. Even a more twisted beemer like raging bull still focuses on drops and air time rather than strong postive g's

I wish one would focus on both. Titan or Goliath would have been so much better if it had more negative g hills, same with Apollo if it had tight helixes. But I still love them.

^I agree with you. It's too bad that Giovanola has gotten out of the roller coaster business because they were pretty good at it. Maybe if we all contact B&M and tell them that we'd wish that they'd start building their hypers w/ more of a combonation of high positive and negative Gs and then maybe they will do it! Kinda like a pettition. Let's do it!

^LOL B&M would probably laugh and say... Do you have 15 to 20 million dollars for the coaster you want...You guys will be like No. B&M will laugh and hang up the phone lol. I just Wish SF would of gave Gio the opportunity to be more creative with their layouts. Imo I think Gio could create an Hyper on par with Intamin, you can clearly feel this from Goliath/Titans amazing G forces and the amazing airtime on that one lonely bunnyhop. Now Imagine a Gio with a few of those bunnyhops, with some twist and turns and no MCBR. IMO with a layout like that I think Gio would give Intamin a run for it's money. I think It's B&Ms huge trains that drain all the forces outta their coasters along with their over engineering. That's just my opinion and I could be wrong. |

Well, since Gio is no longer building coasters, and hasn't been for a few years now, I don't think that your desire to see them be more creative is going to happen.
