Rolling Thunder at GADV

Yesterday, (sunday) I noticed that Rolling Thunder at GADV was fenced off. I heard they are doing construction to it. Is that true?

Wow. Way to be on top of things. That area is closed off for construction.

They are doing nothing to RT itself. Just the que line.
That whole are is closed off due to El Toro construction.

Someone may always be new to things we may already be well versed in. Welcome to the fold of the know about El Toro.

Sometimes I pose questions in threads I create as if I was ignorant but I really just want to see people's opinions. Rolling Thunder is clearly going to be highlighted in the 2006 season since it will offer it's infield for El Toro's second half. I'm glad they repainted it 2 seasons ago. Imagine if they did it in this off season; the white paint would probably blow onto El Toro. I really hope the track will get greased.

If anything, they should paint Medusa.

The paint might blow on El Toro, so I would not risk it.

The park was still smart with the colors they picked for Medusa. Despite the rust, the lime green looks really good on the coaster still. The purple is easier to pick up as being faded. I think it's still not as bad as B:TR looked a few seasons ago.

I'm predicting Rolling Thunder will be running both sides all season..and yes, it will be greased!!! I just can't imagine SF running that coaster with no grease and only one side open with El Toro and Kingda Ka near it. This coaster may be thrust back into the limelight again.

That is what I can be most happy about for Rolling Thunder. Since the que is being renovated I wouldn't mind an exciting new Rolling Thunder sign as well. I have no doubt there's going to be a large spike in Rolling Thunder turnstile numbers this year.

I'm sure there will be. The only problem with that is the station. The station is so poorly designed that it does hold large crowds very well.

^I'm guessing you meant to say "does not hold large crowds well".

True. That is a good point. I would be nice if they re-designed RT's station.

And yes, I did mean does NOT. Thanks for the correction.
