| Inverted Boomerang or Launched Shuttle?
I was wondering which one of these was more popular? Do not include regular boomerangs in this poll, because nobody really likes them. This is Invertigos and GIBs vs. Launched Shuttle coasters. Vote for the one you prefer. In my opinion I enjoy being launched on a shuttle rather than being dropped. Thats why I voted for the Launched shuttles.

Oops!! I accedently pressed inverted boomerangs on the poll. Shuttles are way better because most of them are longer and have a better layout than the inverted boomerangs. Besides, the boomerangs are a wonderful Vekoma product sometimes packaged with enjoyable headbanging. I haven't been on an inverted boomerang (invertigo), but they just don't look nearly as good.

Well I've been on Invertigos- Deja Vu and FaceOff Shuttles- Afterburner, B&R Chiller, Greezed Lightnin', Steel Venom, Wicked Twister And if I had the choice to ride either of these groups, I would probably choose the Invertigos, just because Deja Vu trumps everything listed. I have always prefered being pulled up and then dropped, rather than launching from standstill. Hell if Dragster was modified and built a 500ft tower behind the station that used a cable lift to pull you up backwards, and then just released, you'd have a much more intimidating ride. But that's just dreaming. This poll is kind of hard to judge though, just because an Invertigo is actually considered a type of shuttle.

The Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang has stomped and killed every shuttle coaster I've been on, among which are some of the biggest in the world.

I simply love inverted Boomerangs. Just wish every park had one like Carowinds.

This is a tough one for me to decide....Mr. Freeze at Six Flags over Texas is my favorite launched shuttle, but it is a short ride compared to something like Deja Vu, which offers an overall more exhilerating freefalling sensation during the ride being realeased down the towers lifts. As far as the elements go, I like the top hat and vertical spike on Mr. Freeze over the cobra roll and vertical loop on Deja Vu.

This poll did not include the regular boomerang, because I don't like them, and know they don't compare. I prefer Deja Vu over the Chillers, V2, and Montezooma. I voted for Inverted Boomerangs, and yes I know they are shuttles, but they are not launched. But Deja Vu is better than most hyper coasters I've been on, and better than half of the B&M inverts I've been on, so it easily would win me over. |

The whole reason why I would vote for the boomerang is because theres more of a unpredictable ride (at least when you first ride it). You never know when you'll drop. On those launched shuttles, I'm assuming they usually countdown for the launch or something like that.

Its hard to compare the two because, well, one is inverted and one isnt; they both offer different sensations. ie- Deja Vu has the vertical hanging sensation in an open car with your legs free to dangle, while a launced shuttle has the launch sensation but you're sitting in an enclosed seat.

Definately went with the launched shuttle. Montezooma's Revenge is one of the best coasters I've ever ridden. And Wicked Twister ranks right up there. I've never ridden Deja Vu though but I have ridden the Invertigos and don't think they compare to the launch sensation.

It's a mixed bag for me. Overall I prefer the shuttles. I can't deny my own ride CHILLER. I love the Top Hat in reverse. I long strive to ride any of the MR. FREEZE's and Speed. It was a very big deal to get on my first Schwarzkopf launcher; SFKK's Greezed Lightnin'. I've been on Wicked Twister but I'm not crazy about shooting back n' forth. That seems more like a regular flat ride. I'm fine with the Inverted Boomerangs. I can tolerate them much more than the standard Boomerang design. I can't give my ultimate decision on Deja Vu. I had a very fun time riding in its front outside seat. The capacity, loading, the design of the cobra roll were all just turnoffs for me. If I had a second ride I'd have a more clear, definite opinion about Deja Vu.

I think Deja Vu is awesome but for me the clear winner in this category is launch shuttles for one simple reason that I'm surprised nobody directly mentioned-variety. With the inverted boomerang, there's really only one (two if you want to count the invertigo model as being that different) where launch shuttles have endless variety. Just from what I've been on would put it over inverted boomerangs. On a one one battle between, Deja Vu and an Intamin impulse coaster, I'd already give the impulse the advantage. Then you throw in others like Mr. Freeze, Speed, Superman: The Escape, Greezed Lightening (and others like it) and so many other launch shuttles, it's not even a fair comparison really.
