Have you experienced breakdowns/accidents?

Has anyone here experienced breakdowns/accidents on rides?
Once on Super Manege at SFLR the train came back into the station, and the restraints for the car i was in wouldn't unlock. After a while of fiddling with the unlocker, the ops put it on the storage track with us still in it, went to get a mechanic, and he came about 15 mins later. He went under the track and a gp in line (they were running the other train-not many ppl in line thogh!) who said he opened a panel underneath the train, not sure though, couldn't see much. After about 5 mins, the restraints unlocked and the world (or at least mine) was a better place.

As much as I hate seeing TTD down I love watching the mechanics walk along the launch and inspecting it. Also there's a video at xtremecoastin.com of dragster stuck at the top showing the mechanic going up the elevator and pushing the train over.

Best breakdown ever [besides a TTD rollback]:

I visited kennywood, and as soon as I got into the park I ran for phantom. I was lucky and got first train, back seat (front was taken already). They buckle us in and send us around. When we come back into the station, they can't get the restraints up, so after the mechanics scratch their heads for five minutes, they send us around again. After another fantastic back seat ride on phantom, they can finally get our restraints up. They let us off, closed the ride, and we ended up being the only people to ride PR that day. Again, best breakdown ever.

At la Ronde I was stuck on the wooden coaster Monstre halfway up the lift at night for 10 minutes. Also on Boomerang my shoulder restraint popped loose during the ride I fell off and died.

Only one I can be certain was a breakdown happened this past summer. I was riding Dominator at Geauga Lake and we stopped on the brake run. At first I just thought it was stacking. We waited for 45 minutes to roll into the station and get off (What really sucked was that I had a rain jacket on and the sun came out while sittnig there. So I got just a little hot). We did recieve cut-in-line passes but I never used mine. I still have it, its sitting on my desk right now.

On Alpengist this summer we were stuck for 20 minutes because they thought someone took their seatbeat off. The ride ops were really slow in responding. It really sucked.

One time I was on Volcano: the Blast Coaster and it broke down (big suprise) while we were waiting on the brakes to unload. It was about 5 minutes. Same happened once on Nitro.

HAHAH I worked on Dragster every year it's been open, so yes I've had my fair share of coaster breakdowns. I've never actually been a guest on on though.

On Kingda Ka, waiting on the launch track for the first train to launch and they had to take us back into the station to reset the system. Also on S:UF we got into the station after our ride and we were stuck in the "flying position" for 5-10 minutes.

My home park is Kennywood and I've never really had a problem, except for this past season.

I was on the Phantom's Revenge and we were in the second car on the way up, and on that huge lift hill, we just stopped. We were stuck up there for a good 5 - 10 minutes. The maintenance guys came and fixed it up pretty good. They closed it after we got off, just to make sure it wouldn't happen again.

It was pretty funny though.

About 6 or 7 years ago, I got stuck at the very top of the lift on Laser @ Dorney Park for about 25 minutes. My dad, cousin, and I were in the front car and we had actually gone over the top of the lift but the rest of the train was still on the lift when it stopped.

At Knott's, on Perilous Plunge, a ride-op accidently shut-off the system and I got stuck right before entering the station for about 15 minutes.

I was stranded on Storm Runner for about ten minutes (after the ride, thankfully).
I was on a Monster-like attraction that they couldn't start.
And I was stuck 100' in the air on WoF's Ripcord for about 3 minutes.

I was on Raging Bull's MCBR in the pitch black for about 10 minutes once. That was pretty neat. They didn't take us down the stairs though, we just ended up walking from the final brake run after they let us through the rest of the ride.

I also got stuck on SheiKra's drop. We were just getting ready to hit the hold at the top and we stopped. They got it going about 5 minutes later.

^wouldn't it be fun if you were stuck on the hold for a few minutes, then all of a sudden you're going straight down...

On the Incredible Hulk the train stopped right before getting on the launch track, we were stuck there for just a few minutes.

It would, normally you can judge when it will do it by time. But not in that situation. One other thing that happend then, I got a phone call. that was interesting...

"hello?"
"hey, wats up?"
"nutin much, sitting 200' in the air...stuck. you?"
"HOLY ****! which one?"
"SheiKra."
"dang, isnt that the one coaster thing you were obsessed with for 2 weeks before you left to go to florida?"
"yea, thats the one"
"you should get a life..."
"do we need to discuss this NOW?"
"no"
"well, i better get going, i think were about to dive."
"DIE? OMG!"
*click*

BTW, thats not the exact convo, I edited it from "you should get a life." :D

Breakdowns? Do I dare mention how often they happen with the water portion of Rhino Rally? And yes, I've been stuck on that a couple of times. Along with various other incidents in the rides. Since they are real Land Rovers, they do have the occaisional mechanical problem, which can be quite interesting sometimes.

Also been stopped on the lifts of a couple of coasters, and Superman's brakes at SFoG, but those were only for 5-10 minutes before the started the coasters up again. Nothing real dramatic.

I was on Alpengeist when they e-stopped it because they thought there was someone without their sandles (sit on them).

Of course it wasn't our train and 15 minutes later they finally got the train going again.

That angle is not fun on the bod after a few minutes. Your blood drains to your feet and it feels like they are lead weights.

On Esacpe from Atlantis at Gardaland (Italy) I got stuck for about 10 minutes in front of the seconf lift hill.

While I was in line for Mantis at CP they closed the ride for mechanical problems.
Also, but I think it's normal, while I was waiting for TTD they turned it down twice for mechanical reasons.

On Flight of Fear at PKI, the train launch system didn't work so we had to wait on the train for the next launch.

I have been on Jack Rabbit, and hit a dead chain lift, that hasn't been fun.

Been stuck on T-bolt's brake run. Stuck on the Dom's mid-course, and brake run. In the hot sun no less.

Been stuck on Montu's lift. And the worst, I got stuck on "It's a Small World" For 45 MINUTES! Never again will I ride that. Or maybe I should take a decorative chain saw to it. Hmmmmmmmm!!!!

Only got stuck twice. Once on the Ultimate at Lightwater Valley just outside the station and we had to climb down some very wobbly step ladders from about 10/12ft up. The other time was on Air at Alton Towers where it had e-stopped when we were half way around and it rammed into the brake run - I have never felt anything stop that quickly. It pushes you forward and really hurts because you are facing the floor it isn't the most comfortable stop ever!

We got off after about 10/15 mins.

Always wanted to be on a rollback for some reason, probably on Rita if I could choose, I wouldn't mind rolling back if it didn't get up the 1st hill.

At SFMM I have broken down on 2 rides. I broke down on X(duh), the restrainsts would not lift after the ride. I have also broken down on Riddler's Revenge, at one of the break points on the ride, we just sat there, and the train behind us kept going, luckily we started going about 10 seconds before it reached where we were.
