| Memorable moments on roller coasters...
Post any memorable moments/funny on-ride photos here. More than once i've been on a wild mouse and I put my hands up on turns, and they slam into the person next to me's nose. After I went on SROS at SFNE i looked at my photo and my friend looked really freaked out and was hugging the person next to him. Didn't buy it though, lol.

I elbowed my friend in the face when I had my hands up on the double dip of the Jack Rabbit. Gave him a bloody nose.:( Another memorable moment (You guys would love). I was on the Big Dipper at GL this May and was in the front seat alone. I got so much airtime, my tank top didn't want to stay on. :o If there was an on-ride photo, it would have been sold out that day. PPP this year was really memorable. Phoenix was running in insane mode. It was one of the best events I have been too. Katie

Nothing is more memorable than having a whole group of your best buddies all on one train enjoying a great rollercoaster and just acting like idiots. But that happens more often than once, so I can't pinpoint a particular moment...

on rockin' rollercoaster, they play the aerosmith song "love in an elevator" , but slightly modified to play "love in a rollercoaster".... at any rate, towards the end of the song, theres a pause and then they sing "goooin' down...." well, on one of my rides on Rockin' Rolercoaster (front seat)the MCBRs kicked in right before this, so there was total silence for a second.. and then , right as the train started to regain momentum and go down the drop into the finale, the "Goin' down" part plays. the timing couldn't have been better if it was planned.

I was on Mindbender, on one of the many dips, I accidentally spit (ACCIDENTALLY) and the spit went way up due to negative force back up, we went down the small dip, then up at the top of the second one and the spit came right down on my face.... akward moment

When I visited CP last year, we climbed on Mantis in the front row. Halfway uyp the lift it started to POUR....I mean, a torrential hurricane downpour. So, they stopped the ride, climbed the lift, and tried to tell us they were going to evacuate us....well, for some reason, they decided ti was too slippery or whatever, so they let us go. Myself and the entire train rode the ride with our arms over our face....it hurt so bad. And made for a great on ride photo.

At events like PPP 2001 (right after 9/11 and just before we started bombing), SRM 2002, several Winter Solaces, and other events- I can think of a bunch where a bunch of friends would do a takeover of a ride- even the kiddie coasters. It's a kick and a half when you know everyone else on the ride. Heck, even the pirate ship- one of the most boring rides known to man- can be a blast and a half during a takeover when everyone is having a good time.

well you know how on the exterminator, your car doesn't start to spin untill the middle of the ride. Well, in the beginning on the first turn, if you put all your weight to one side and its at the right time, you car can start spinning like crazy throughout the whole ride. That happened once with me my mom and my friend. WE were spinning like crazy, we went sideways down the two bigger hills and we was spinning on every single turn. Everytime we would make a sharp turn, the car would keep spinning. I though it was broke lol. That was the best time i've ever had on that ride.

Speaking of onrides: (I'm in the back) http://community.webshots.com/photo/220242223/472991528ScLJiX I remember the first time we were riding Milly and I never get nervous before riding a new coaster, but I had butterflies a bit beforehand. But one of my friends looked very nervous and he's ridden more coasters than me! lol The first time we rode Wild Maus at BGW I waved to our friend below and hit my friend in the face going around the turn. lol I had never been on a wild mouse. lol

I remember this friend, every coaster we rode, he was like.. "well.. you call that intense?" and when we rode Gwazi Tiger he was really scared and begun to scream like a girl, and when I asked him why he was yelling, he said "well.. just because it was a little rough..".

Media Day for SheiKra....first ride was at 5:47am, I had been up for 23 hours and still had another 12 hours to go for media day. It was non stop SheiKra all day! Also, riding Kraken 91 times in one day. I consider that my un-official "initiation" into the Florida Coaster Club.

Last year, first drop on my first ride on Apollo's Chariot. Changed my life forever, now I'm obsessed with roller coaster. I remeber that I started to scream on the little pre-drop, I stopped, and than I wasn't ready to scream on the actual drop. Good times..

Lets see, Dragster, first ride, it may have been becuase I had waited 2 years, and 3 trips to cp to finally ride it, or because the ride had just recovered from a minor breakdown right before I got on it. (The train I was on was the very first to go after this breakdown.) Another, apollo's chariot, when I went one day, and who should I run into, but some good old acting friends, (seniors in high school, who had just graduated.) I thought I'd never ever see them again, but there they were, standing in line, waiting for AC, so I walked over, joined the crew and filled in as the 4th person and we all did "YMCA" for the photo.

Getting stuck on Alpengeist for 15 minutes was memorable. Painful too. Try sitting in a B&M Invert train for more than 10 minutes on the lift. lol

Katie
I saw that happen to a teenage girl on Magnum at CP a few years back, only with her bikini top. She was REALLY red faced. And, yes I enjoyed it! I have had so many memorable times on coasters, too many to list, but here is a couple from this year: The ERT on IJ:ST at the PCW event this past Labour Day weekend was awesome. We got 9 rides in, in a half hour, and the whole group just got into it. At BGW end of September, running to get on AC before closing, riding it, getting around one more time before the gates closed, riding again.......then getting to seat-fill for another 5 times or so as they emptied out the front row line....then getting to go around one more time just for the glory......having the seat checkers race each other each time....high fiving them all on the last departure......having a blast with everyone seated around me, riding this beast in the dark.....was the perfect end to a great day at BGW. |

I was on Screamin Eagle and a leaf or something flew into my eye and bugged me for a good 5 hours. Great ride nonetheless.
well you know how on the exterminator...
You just reminded me of a memorable moment. I went to Kennywood for the first time ever this past summer and was really excited. The two rides I was most anxious to ride were Phantom and Exterminator. After filling my Phantom urge we headed over to Exterminator. After the semi long wait in line the three of us boarded. I was on one side by myself and my two chums were on the other. I knew the ride spun but I didn't know where it started which really added to the suspense. The first half of the ride was fun then all of a sudden the spinning starts. Since the car was oddly weighted due to there only being three people we started spinning uncontrolably to the right. I slid across my half of the car and slammed violently into the side of the car. From then on I was pinned against it laughing as Lateral Gs kept me inplace. As we come around the final bend we were still spinning and the ride host had to try a couple of times to get the car to a stand still. At this point I was still in tears laughing at the completely wild ride I just experience and then wam! The ride host grabed my lap bar and rose it while I was still leaning foward and nailed me in my jaw. So for the next 10 minutes I was spitting up blood followed by a trip to first aid.

Late August 2002 This was my first trip to Six Flags Darien Lake, and I couldn't wait. When I saw S:ROS, it scared the crap out of me, so I didn't ride it until my next visit 2 years later. But not Predator. It wasn't that tall, (but the closest thing to Predator in height I rode before hand was HP's Wild Mouse) So the line was about 10 minutes. There was a lot of gum on the stair walls. When we crested the lift, and went down the 87 foot drop, I screamed in a high pitch voice, but by the time we crested the second lift, I was constantly saying "OH MY GOD, THIS IS AWESOME!" throughout the ride. It was amazing!!! THe airtime on the final bunny hops were insane, and it was non stop fun. I rode it twice more during my visit, and it was all I could think of for months. (I'm not kidding) But I went to bigger and better things the following year, as my second trip to Hersheypark and my first to Dorney approached. Late June 2003: Dorney Park This was my first time to the park, and I was excited. I have never heard of the park until recently, only when my uncle told me about it. I researched it, and I saw the coasters o nthe web, and they looked cool. But when Iapproached, I chickened out from Talon, Steel Force, and Laser. But my uncle forced me to ride Hercules, saying it would be awesome. Boy, was it awesome!!! I boarded the red train, and we were off. I closed my eyes for the lift and the drop, but I loved it!! The intense speed was just tamazing (this was my first coaster above 100 feet) I loved it mainly for it's sheer size and speed. I was just awed by it. I loved that final drop near the station, it was fun. Along with the 157 foot drop and the turn after, it was the most memorable moments on that ride ever. On my 3rd and final time, I finally opened my eyes on the first drop and the view was spectacular. I was just crushed to find only 3 months later it was getting torn down, but the floorless coaster coming in its place (now knowing it's called hydra) was the coaster I waited the most for (1.75 years) Hersheypark, the next day. I was too scared to ride Great Bear and Sidweinder had too long of a wait, (and i was scared of that, too) and I was scared of Sooperdooperlooper, but I was scared of Hercules and Predator before I rode them, so I had a feeling i would love this, too. Fortunately, it was only a 10 minute wait so Icould just get it over with. I was scared beyond belief during the agonizingly slow lift (I found that's how Schwarzkopf's older loopers are) The first drop was un ending. Then there was the loop. I loved it, I was just completely 1,000% amazed. It was just unbelievable. MGM Studios, August 2003. Rock 'n' Rollercoaster was my first boosting coaster, and even though I had a fever, I still was going to ride it anyway. The line was around 20 to 30 minutes, and i got scared. Alot. I was in the second to last car, and I was waiting about 5 minutes for the launch, clutching the restraints. that original boost was incredible. It seemed to last 2.8 hours instead of 2.8 seconds, it was just amazing. I couldn't believe it. The inversions, especially the Corkscrew had me floating gently to the tops of the restraints when I was upside down. It was just so cool!!!! Next year, I would make a huge leap from something from a tiny Vekoma LSM, to the massive, legendary, Top Thrill Dragster. Cedar Point, June 30, 2004, afternoon. I was waiting for a year and a half to ride the tallest and fastest coaster in the world before hand (un knowing 3 months later that SFGADV would anounce KK) and I finally got in line!!!! The line stretched a couple hundred feet outside the entrance, but the vast majority of the queue lines were roped off, so it looked longer than it really was. It was broken down almost all of yesterday, and most of today, so I was really anxious. But 10 minutes after I got in line, it broke down. EVen though I knew for a year it has been having horrible reliability problems, I was ticked off beyond belief. But after a while it was working. So, the line slowly progressed, and after a while, the ride broke down again, but got fixed relatively quickly. Then, a guy had problems getting fitted into the restraints. But finally, I was in line. (After i got off, I found out I was in line for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Wow, I'm lucky) I was in the green train, from what I remember, around the middle. So we slowly roll on to the launch section. Then that really annoying announcer voice got everyone really excited and stuff. Then the train slightly went backwards. After relentlessly studying CP's 3d TTD simulation, I realized it was about to launch. Then, the lights at the side quickly went to green, and I was off. I know the launch was 4 seconds long before, during, and after, but it still felt like a 4 minute launch. I loved it. Just unending, accelerating bliss. Then, we turned vertical. For some reason, I could "feel" the vertical more than Wicked Twister, probably because I experienced it for a longer period of time. Then, we crested the top. I had a habit of just looking forward on coastres until recently, keeping myself away from amazing views of the surrounding rides, so I didn't get to appreciate it. But when we turned face down, my mind was thinking of something like this. "Holy crap were are high up. Awesome!" The twisting was surprisingly quick. But all of a sudden, it was over. i was shaking all over. I was just amazed. It was one of the best 28 seconds of my life |

I recall an embarrasing moment were I was stupid enough to try to kiss my girlfriend on rebel yell. I had braces on at the time and wound up cutting my lip hard when my lips banged against her cheek bone due to the roughness of the ride.

One time @ SFoT my friend won a plastic Ninja Warrior Sword toy. It was really funny because we went on a bunch of coasters after that (Titan, Texas Giant, etc.) and he brought it on all of them. The on-ride photos were hilarious, but we didn't buy any (we were broke lol).
