A Different Sort Of Thrill

My friend had any idea about a new kind of coaster. Something like a stand-up, floorless, suspended coaster. It made me wonder what the next new thing may be. I think they should do a coaster that has a bit of everything in it. Loops, launches, vertical drops etc. Any ideas for what could make a new kind of thrill.

No. I thought it would be too uncomfortable to be stand-up suspended but i like the idea of a coaster with launches, loops and drops.

Standup and floorless at the same time. Sounds like NASA just got into the thrill industry. LOL.

The problem with having all of it at the same time is the cost. It would be ungodly expensive, and not worth the money. We've got too many thrill ideas that need tweaking to be doing anything on this level, at least right now.

Well this right here isn't farfetched at all. The launchers from Schwartzcofmn, fdeptoxmn (however you spell it) 1.) launch 2.) go through a loop 3.) go up spike 4.) Fall down the spike, and then back through the course backwards. There--thats the launch, loop, and drop. :-D

SPAMKING Your signature is HUGE, and a coaster that has a vertical drop, a loop, and launch? That can easily be done, costly, but it is plausible. And the stand up inverted suspended? That is already one of those!!!!! It may not be a B&M standard stand up train that is suspended..... but it is a stand up inverted suspended coaster

Well of course a stand up floorless is possible. It's already been done, though not on a coaster. Acrophobia at SFOG. Take that and hang the sucker. Voila. Also, I'm sceptacle that such a contraption would be significantly more expensive than a regular suspended coaster. It would be the same thing only with modified trains.

Coaster idea=not possible in our riding days.

SPAMKING, you might want to shorten your signature significantly, you'll be yelled at about it soon.

Standup-floorless = not good for guys.
I'm assuming you're a guy, so imagine a bicycle seat holding all your weight and where it would be holding all your weight.

Your only thinking about whatts available now. try to think outside the box on this. Maybe it wont be a bicycle style seat thingy. who knows. anything is possible dont be so scepticle. if you said there would be a multiple looping coaster back in the 50's youd be looked at funny! I think its an interesting idea.

Eh-h, I don't like the name given to SFoG's Acrophobia. To me, it's not standup, it's just floorless. Just a preference I guess.

About the verticle drop, loop, and launch coaster....You need to come to the 21st century because there is Kanonen (Liesberg), Storm Runner (not exactly loops, but it has 3 inversions), and Speed Monster (TusenFryd, still not exactly loops but again has 3 inversions, and no verticle drop, but good enough). So that one's already here. As for the suspended, floorles, standup coaster....In your dreams...

I really cant think of anything else that would hold you up in standing position with no floor. Unless they shackle and lock your legs to the back of the car a bicycle seat would probably be the only way to keep you from falling.

Well figure Intamin could be the one to "Supply and demand" ,Look at the seating arrangement on "Wild Bunch" and "Acrophobia.. the 2 Floorless Stand up drop towers. That could work on a coaster..

It would be very painful though. Think about it on the positive Gs, all of that forced to one place. That one place=crotch. That would hurt like no other.
