I remember reading in an interview that SFWOA wanted to name X-Flight after Batman. But it was not going in the Batman section so they called it X-Flight.

Now, isn't X-Flight really close to Superman? And wouldn't a flying coaster be better themed to Superman? Its right near it!

You are flying like Superman, its near the Superman section. But WoA wanted it to be batman!

What do you think?

_________________
What is with all this Phoenix stuff? Huh? I don't care about the bird. Regardless of what happened to it. I just wan't some place to read rumors and coaster news!

ThrillRide, come back!

[ This Message was edited by: Tyler Eaves on 2001-07-18 21:16 ] |

i never read that but i do think that superman would be a more fitting name to the coaster than batman.

Actually, X-Flight WAS supposed to be called Superman. But when they put the impulse in in 2000, they didn't know they were getting the flying coaster yet, so they names that Superman: Ultimate Escape.

Actually, I thought X-Flight was going to be called Green Lantern b/c of its color and the fact it flies.

Green Lantern was a rumored name in December. I am talking over a year ago it was rumored to be called Superman.

Since when do all Six Flags coaster names fit into which areas they are in?

They wouldn't have 2 Superman coasters so close together. I kinda like the name, and you have to LOVE that logo.

I read on "... Refreshing Look", I believe, that the GM for the former Geauga Lake & Sea World Ohio (I don't do the corporate crap) said that they wanted to name the ride after a Superman villian, but the guys above him said "No, the ride is 'X-Flight'" Oh well, no matter what the name, there still won't be any theming.

X-Flight is kinda gay. Green Lantern would have been really cool like someone else said. I think you on Refreshinglook.com you read the interview of Jack Baughman.
