Superman @ WBMW

Is Superman a near clone of Superman: Krypton Coater at Six Flags Fiesta Texas? The layout looks almost the same.

It might be a near-clone, but there are things that are way off. Here are the similarities and differences:

-S:KC-Turning drop, Superman WBMW-Straight drop
-First inversion on both-vertical loop
-S:KC-turn on cliff after loop, WBMW-Immelman
-Both have zero-g rolls followed by cobra rolls.
-S:KC-brake run, WBMW-Airtime hill
-Both have interlocking corkscrews
-S:KC-sharp, banked turn into final brakes, WBMW-helix, airtime hill, helix, final brakes.

Both are around the same height. S:KC has red box track, gray rails and blue supports. Superman @ WMBW has red box track, yellow rails, and blue supports. Hope that helped!

Superman is going to be a really awesome floorless coaster. The full name of the coaster is actually Superman: Ride of Steel. I know you may be wondering, "But isn't that the name for the hypercoasters?" Heh, heh, according to the map of Warner Brothers Movie World, they refer to Superman as "Superman, la Atracción de Acero," which translates to "Superman: Ride of Steel." I take Spanish, so I know my stuff.

It does seem that B&M/Parks are throwing just about every conceivable variation of common elements (loop, cobra, immel, z-g, interlocking c's, heli) at us. Maybe a bit more originality needs to come out of the premier designer...

Come on, it's hard to get excited about Wildfire, a near clone of Kumba, 9 years on.

Its not the highest loop its only 150ft high so it cant be.i dont know the height but look at this:

Kumba (height-143)loop-108
dragon kakn(148)118
mantis(145)119
chang(151)121
riddler(156)124
MEDUSA(150)128
SKC(170)approx 132
Knight flight(161)135

Its not a 136ft loop+ with 150ft drop.

How can they make an immelman on a floorless roller coaster? I thought immelmans were just diving loops on inverted roller coasters.

Superman at Movie World that's opening next year.

I had an idea about the Superman at the new Movie World that's opening in 2002. Instead of calling it Superman, they should call it Superman: The Revenge.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Superman already has a full ride name. According to the park map of Warner Brothers Movie World's attractions, it states that Superman is referred to as "Superman, la Atracción de Acero," which translates to "Superman: Ride of Steel." Don't believe me, here's the site for the map:

Oh yeah, don't doubt my translation because I've been taking Spanish.

I think it's quite boring that SF always names its coasters Batman and Superman. Batman-The Ride, The Escape...Superman-ROS, The Escape... I mean isn't this stupid that they always name nearly all their rides after kiddie comics. I think names as Nitro, Goliath, Titan, Beast, Steel Dragon, Apollo's Chariot, and so on sounds so much cooler.

Its probably a strategy they have... so that people go "wow, I like superman, I might go to SFxx instead of CP, all it has is MF"

its a pity for us that the SF chain of parks dont have more original rides, it would actually give us a reason to visit more parks

I agree, the name game SF plays is stupid. They need to come up with better names. I think they can call them Superman:whatever, but come up with cooler names. Same with Batman:The Ride. Now there will be four S:ROS's in the world and a billion B:TR's. The name thing that really gets me is Superman: Ultimate Escape. That name is just Superman: The Escape only they tried to make it sound better. I think it's stupid! They should name them cool names like Superman: Flight, Fortress of Solitude, Escape from Solitude, Save the World, or something! Batman also needs better names. I like B:KF, but B:TR is old! Batman: Caped Crusader sounds cool, or Batman: Batcar.

A diving loop and Immelman are pretty different. A diving loop is like the second inversion on Kumba or Kraken. The track goes up, then twists, inverts and ends in a half loop. An Immelman starts in a half loop, twists, inverts, and travels back down. This is a little hard to explain without pictures, but I tried. An Immelman can be done on a floorless coaster because it IS being done. It's just like the Immelman on Wildfire, only the trains are floorless.

By now, shouldn't the trains for Superman: Ride of Steel at Warner Brothers Movie World be installed on the track? I heard they're currently doing work for the coaster's surroundings and its station.

I too wonder why they decided to name the Superman at WBMW Superman: Ride of Steel. I thought every Superman name categorized the type of coaster. Superman: Ultimate Escape would be an impulse coaster, Superman The Escape would be a launched shuttle coaster, Superman Krypton Coaster would a floorless coaster, Superman The Ride would a launched looping coaster, and Superman: Ride of Steel would usually be a hypercoaster. Hmmm, they should have named the coaster Superman Krypton Coaster so it won't be too confusing to remember (it relates more with another floorless counterpart).

Why not give it an incline loop or sea serpent or batwing? Lets mix it up Walter and Claude!
