Rollercoasters in 20 years?

What do you think rollercoasters will be like in 20 years. I mean like height, inversions or totally new concepts.

i'm sure we will break 400ft. or at least s&s will with a thrust air. i hope that there will be a good 400ft continous circuit coaster in the states. thats all. just one...close enough to road trip to. i think that thrust air's are cheap. i won't doubt their coasters but come on they just don't feel traditional. when i say cheap i men in a record breaking way. I'm dying to ride hypersonic or the other one in japan, but hypersonic is a more reasonable trip. oopse topic. sorry i went off on a tangent i just wanted to get it out. it just came to me.

I see a lot more launched coasters instead of lift hills, possibly 6-8 seating vehicles instead of just B&M's 4. Hopefully some floorless woodies possibly breaking the 250 ft. mark, and parks with 20 coasters! Woo-hoo!

Just think....Viper at SFDL is 20 years old, and that was incredible for it's time. Look at all the stuff we have now. We can do a lot more with coasters, we just need to have some imaginative people to come up with it and no government interference...:)

Hmm

Good question.. deffinately new heights and new speeds! I'd like to see more manuvers as seen in the Incredible Hulk! Maybe so 90° drops.. some maybe that turn half way through.. Unexpected inversions, unexpected dives, i like those.. I'd like to see more of the inversions like the blue side of The Chiller. Hypers backwards.. who knows.. As for crazy ways to put people in trains.. hmm X is going to be a hit we'l;l see nmore of those.. and more like Batwing. Hm.. I'll think about it and get back to you

As long as there are crazy designers out there, a lot more insane coasters will open to the public in the future. Roller coaster innovations can only go as far as the designers' imaginations. Who knows, maybe there'll actually be a coaster in the moon or a coaster that'll feature a 120° first drop. Maybe coasters will go as fast as 300 m.p.h. in the future or reach heights of 1,000 feet. Right now, we can't actually predict what new types of coasters will pop up in the world. I mean already we have really cool, new innovations: giga coasters, flying coasters, floorless coasters, 4-D coaster. We'll all just have to wait for what coaster designers have in store for the public in the future.....

Repeat topic. Anyway, 450 foot coasters (or taller) and more twisted inversions.

I bet the coaster industry will strive or it wil decline. I mean being realistic, but hopefully it wont deline, If it doesnt decline, which I HOPE to god it wont, then we could probably be seeing some coasters that are 500 feet tall, and it would be so cool to see rides like Power Tower (the name escapes me) reaching huge heights of 1000 or more fee! As long as we can breathe I would ride it!

Continous circuit coaster will get above 400ft for sure. But looper will not be any higher than now. The emphasize will be on new inversion or element, and slightly more inversions than now. We might also see other new types of coaster coming out. But still, the most popular is going to be hyper/giga/tera sector.

As for woodies, they will be still popular. And because they're cheap, so small parks will like to have them. But bigger parks will opt for bigger woodies, more than 150 ft.

As for companies, B&M, Intamin, Vekoma, CCI will be still dominant. Pinfari may be the black horse in the future. If Arrow won't survive the next 2 years, it will be there after 20 years.

as for the 400 foot barrier...we already broke it! ever heard of S:TE...and it most definitely is a coaster. as for complete circuit...that's a different story. i have to differ with condor27 here on the looping situation. i belive there'll be looping gigas in the future. i hope arrow builds the first ultra (tera whatever!) complete circuit. they have a great history, but intamin and s&s are taking the world by storm more recently. i doubt seeing b&m going giga for a while (although they will prolly build some looping hypers), and morgan is a possibility, too. so none of us know what the future holds and there's only one way to find out...wait and see! it looks promising though!
