That pic looks a lot like flordias version (not much to see though). I bet ya by not a clone is by its theaming, not layout.

You see, from the layout it is defenitly a clone. I didnīt say anything else and www.dlp-guidebook.de didnīt also.

Why do Disney cover up their coasters like this?

I think that you are talking about making them enclosed and the do that caouse they don't want you to see a mass of track, cause will take a way from the theaming of the ride. Also coasters in the dark are so much better than ones in the light.

What they really said was: The track layout will be the same but the theming will be different...... Why don't you read the whole artical??

Covering the coasters keeps them open rain or shine and I hear that it rains a lot in Paris. That might be the reason.

1. So they can theme it extensively.
2. So rain (big factor in Florida) and snow (Paris) won't bother.

Huh? What are you talking about? There is a RnR clone at DLP. It opened in 1995 & is called "Space Mountain - From the Earth to the Moon."

Those photos are of RnR at MGM@DW. See how it has the square building around it. SM has a cone-shaped building.

Edit: I'm very confused, this page on Fright Time lists it as a RnR Clone for '02. RCDb lists SM as an enclosed Vekoma triple looper built in '95. Yet the same site lists RnR at DLP as a clone for '02. Lastly thispagecannotbedisplayed lists it as SM, a 1995 RnR clone.

Rock 'n' Roller coaster is nothing like Space Mountain! Let me list the coasters:

1. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Staring Aerosmith: Disney MGM Studios, Florida. It features 3 Inversion: 1 rollover(sea serpent) and a corkscrew. This is the same ride as "Superman: The Ride" at Six Flags Holland, only enclosed. It features a forward LSM/LIM launch from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds.

2. Rock 'n' Roller Coaster: Disneyland Paris, France. It is an exact clone of the one in Florida, and will open in 2002. The theming will be slightly diffrent, with less focus on Aerosmith.

3. Space Mountain-From the Earth to the Moon: Disneyland Paris, France. It features 2 inversions: a corkscrew and a sidewinder. The third inversion is actually a turn banked at 90 degrees, called a "tongue inversion". It features an upward launch at 40 mph into the main building, using a non-magnetic catapult system. It features a custom layout.

I hope this clears things up.

Thanks Kraken, that makes sense. The SM building is not big enough for a RnR clone & on the Disney site the video shows an uphill launch. Sounds right for a 1995 coaster.

IMO that is dumb, they will have two enclosed launched triple loopers. Anyone agree?

Yeah! especially as space monutain, which is nearly 7 years old, will look better than the much younger rnr.

Those were great pics of the ride. Thanks! Once a coaster gets covered up, it is hard to see what the original track looks like.
