I've gotten two roll-backs. My first one was the fourth row at night. It was a completely random roll-back. (DEAJVU-RULES was sitting right next to me) It was flying over the top all day, and then, all of the sudden, we rolled back. My second time was the third train out for the day and I was in the front seat of the gold train. We must have stopped at the top for a full three seconds...just sitting there. We almost made it over, but thankefully we diddn't.

Like Chip said, a roll-back is better than a full ride. It's just such a unique experience. Or...maybe it's not. Maybe it's just because it's rare. Well, whatever it is it's awesome.

I think I'll chant "rollback, rollback" when I wait in line for Kingda Ka. I know the GP will not believe me, but hopefully it will happen.

^^ it would be amazing if the trian just stopped at the top. it would have to be the exact perfect condition though. imagine being stuck on top of a 456 foot coaster!!!!!

Didnt that happen with TTD once? Imagine getting stuck on the top of Xcelerator. Would they push it with a stick or climb up there?

^ It's impossibe for TTD, Xcelerator, Storm Runner, or Kingda Ka to get "stuck" at the top. It'll either go over or rollback, but it wouldn't just sit there.....gravity doesn't work like that. It may look/feel like it's stuck but it's not.....

I (along with any of the CP employees here, probably) have personally witnessed TTD's train sitting at the top of the tower motionless. I'm pretty sure it can't happen with people in it, but it is possible for an empty train to get stuck. The chances of it happening are pretty slim, though.

Yeah coasterdude28, it would be pretty awesome. It would give you a chance to actually look around from the top. In a way, I wish TTD somehow stopped right at the crest, so the height of the ride could sink in a little more.

Bryon, how long did it sit there? If it was infact stopped, how did it come down? Did somebody have to push it? (that would've been a funny sight)

It would be scary to be on the ride, but even scarier haveing to help push the train from that height.

I'll vouch for that. Though I did not witness it, my roommate did (and he called to tell me!), and my friends and manager told me it stopped at the top three times in 2003. I think it stopped once in 2004. A mechanic gets in the elevator, rides to the top and pushes it forward.

Intamin said the chances of it stopping up there were about one in a million.

It was empty. It can't stop with people in it because the weight would not be distributed evenly.

Kinda of like flipping a coin and having it land on its side...Its possible but unlikely...Talk about a view though.

Well, I think it is possible to get stuck on TTD. Actually, when it has the perfect conditions, no wind, right speed etc.. It could get stuck. Only that chance is really really small

All you have to do is when you're cresting the hill, just as you go over, look forward. You will see this blue thing and at first you may think to yourself "hey look, it's Corkscrew" and then you think about it for a second and realizie"holy crap, that's not Corkscrew, that's Millennium Force below me!" It sinks in real good then

This is maybe a stupid question but I have to ask. How do they push it? Do they just go up and push it with their hand(s)? I would think that it might be considered some sort of hazard to phsyically interact with the train while it's up there even if it is a very remote chance of something going wrong.

Well when Chiller got stuck upsided down at sfgadv this year, like 2 or 3 guys just pushed it. Maybe more. But its not even close to the height of TTD. Its around 70 feet. So its a different story. But they probally use a big metal pole or something.

It doesn't seem right to have a guy just push Dragster over the top. I'd be worried my shirt would get attached to the seat somehow and pull me with it. God....that would suck.

^Geez that would suck. Falling all the way down the 420 foot tower would creep me out. It's not possible to get stuck on the top of Dragster though.

It'd be cool if they made two rides, since they have two loading places. For example, if you get in the first train you have a normal ride, in the second train, you get stopped at the top, and each time for a different amount of time, and then suddenly just fall down the other side of the tower.

They quite literally just grab ahold of the train and push it down. It's not dangerous because they tie themselves to the rails on the stairway up there.

Simple as that.

^Thank you. I thought the guys would just stand on the top with no harness, but they had really mad balance skills. It would still be freaky.

Doesnt the top have the stairway curve(maybe as big as the train)? So then they were expecting it to happen .

The top does have a stairway over a big portion. I think it is about as long as a train or a little longer. I think it's up there so they can work on the proxy sensors that are at the top or the light, not if a train stopped.

Did the train stop at the top when it had the big wheels and spoiler or after they took it off, or did it stop in both conditions?

It had no theming on the train when it stopped.

All the instances I am speaking of where the train stopped occurred as I was working at the park or shortly after I left. Sadly, I missed seeing the theming on the trains by a day!

They're going to put it back for 05 right? They had some reinforcements and it will be re-added? It should be. Are there any regular videos of Xcelerator, just like a front POV? i've seen the badnitrus, but I wanna see the real thing.

I'm not sure whether or not they're adding it back. I doubt it because they threw in that extra row of seats, and that's where the engine rested.

True, I guess the extra 2 people per train raised pph by alot right. Honestly, that isn't sarcastic.
