LOL, that's where the confusion was. I was wondering why you didn't get it.

I think it's like that so it won't roll back as often as Top Thrill Dragster. And with the back rounded off like that, it's aerodynamic. It seems like the ride is designed to roll back.

Xcelerator is a rocket coaster. That's how.

I think the thread's OK with where it's going. As long as we stick to talking about Intamin rockets, it's fine. Just be sure to keep checking out the video I posted. Especially when they staple Sandor.

That was funny when he stapled Sandor. But its interesting how they can get coasters up to speeds higher then they would usually go.

I'm wondering what the sounds or things are going to happen before the launch on KK.

You know, I was teaching my friend about how the brake fins on the launch and how they would come up in any event of failure, explained somewhere else, find it if you want to.......

So anyway, I was explaining how rollbacks are 100% safe, and was showing him the badnitrus videos of TTD and Xcelerator, and realized that the KK launch will be nearly as forceful as Hypersonic, but will go w/o warning, unlike TTD and Hypersonic, with the Christmas tree light, so that'll make KK so much more intense.

The only warning it will have (that we're aware of) will be the rolling back onto the catch car and the brakes dropping.

The press releases don't mention anything happening before the launch, and computer images don't show anything either.

That doesn't go to say nothing will happen, it just wasn't said.

Well, There'll be no christmas tree light, that's what I meant. Someone suggested an idea about having jungle drums, and then becoming silent right before the launch.

>You know, I was teaching my friend about how the brake fins on the launch and how they would come up in any event of failure, explained somewhere else, find it if you want to.......<

I saw a rollback on Xcelerator about 2 weeks ago. They were getting ready to open it after the rain stopped. First time, it didn't even clear the top of the top hat. Second time, it made it to the top and the first car went over the down side and then it stopped and rolled backwards, at which time the brake fins caught it and the "red" light on the light tree went up as it was slowly dragged back. Third time it went over the top hat verrrry slow (to the point where we thought they would have to send up another train to knock it over the top......lol, j/k) and finally made it over. I think if the ride had rolled back first time I ever went on it, I would have had a heart attack.

As far as Xcel being boring.....it still has not gotten boring to me after a ton of rides. It's a little short, but still an intense ride and is still tied with X as being one of my favorites.

I actually like being stapled on this one, as I do on most rides. I'm weird like that. I can still feel the forces but there is that added measure of security.

Dec 26-28, are the lines big in this park? Or will it be like I can ride each coaster more than once? Will I get to ride every coaster there, plus 3 other rides, if I stayed for a day?

^ To keep this thread on topic, that question is better asked in our travel tips forum.

Oh, I see, I guess next time I know.

Actually, I've wanted to know for a while, what the seats are like on TTD and Xcelerator. How are they compared to Premier launch seats?

During the previews of ttd they never said or shown anything in there video that had an engine rumbling and tires burning out. I think kk will have some type of warning before the launch. This may be a little off topic but what ever happened to the idea of having the like 10 flags on each side of the start of the break run on ttd?

Xcelerator and Top Thrill Dragster seats.
Premier seats.

I've ridden in both types, and the Intamin seats are way bette than the Premier seats. The Intamin seats are extremely open. You have lots of freedom to move around. The restraints are also comfortable but confining. The Premier seats are more close-quartered. The restraints are fairly bulky. They don't allow you to spread your legs like the Intamin T-bars do.

I have only been in the premier seats on Batman and Robin: The Chiller, and yes they were bulky buy we will have to see what the seats are like on KK wouldn't they be
something like this if they are using the storm runner restraints:

Ok, well the SR seats don't matter, I was asking about Xcelerator, not KK. So, I've ridden both sides of the Chiller w/ lapbar, and they aren't too bad, they're just kindof like a shwarzkopf seat, which is really plain. Those Xcelerator ones look open and comfy.

^ Well, Xcelerator & TTD have the same seats. So, I guess you mean TTD 's and Xcelerator's seats look comfy....

Anyway, I don't like the Premier seats that much. They're really low down and it gives you a feeling of "unfreedomness". Oh, and those ankle restraint things...those are terrible.

Yea, the seats are very low down on Premiers. It's like you're in a box.

Does Xcelerator break down alot, being the first Hydraulic launch coaster, or is it pretty reliable?

^ When I went in 02' it was running great. It was broken down right when we got there, but it reopened very soon and stayed open for the rest of our trip.

Meow, have you been on an Intamin Rocket Coaster yet?

BTW, I find that Intamin coasters do tend to break down, just because.

No, but that will have changed in (look at countdown in sig).

Oh, I thought KK was going to be your first. In a way, that kind of sucks. I think it would be better if you just hopped on KK without any "Rocket Coaster Experience".

Oh yeah, has Xcelerator been running good recently? Also, how are those new side bars they installed (the things that'll supposedly keep people from falling off.... )?

I saw on a post that it might have a drum beat and then go silent
