I live 50minutes from it. I dont talk about it. I talk about Holiday World and Hershey Park.

Fanboys do all the talkin.

Or people like me who, sadly, haven't made it to any other parks this season.

^^That doesn't mean he's a fanboy at all. People talk about their home parks. It's not a big deal.
Fanboys are totally different.
Fanboys will not accept that any other parks can hold a candle to their favorite. They automatically assume that everything at other parks is worthless and should be burned.

^^But you have in the past.

I find most fanboys have existed ONLY at the park they talk about - too afraid to venture out and see if something else offers something better.

Like free pop.

^I know what a fanboy is - what I said carried the implication that people already knew what I meant since it was already talked about right in the page before

I rode Maverick a few times this summer, and it's deffinitely on my top 10. The only complaint I had is that the last time I rode it, by the end of the ride, my legs were crushed by the restraint. Other than that, it's a great coaster that's a must if you're at the point. If anyone has ridden it at night, let me know, I was wondering if it makes any difference.

Yeah, that definitely happens with the restraints.
It's not as bad as the Gerstlauer spinners, but you absolutely lose some feeling down there.
I've ridden it at night. My first ride was in the back row at 10:30 pm.
I think it's better at night. The lights in the tunnel blind you and you can't see for a second when you get out.

I liked the ride, I had no problems with the restraints. Just the occasional head banging every once in a while but thats about it.

Yeah, I've ridden Millenium and Dragster at night, and thought it made the ride alot more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, they're fun during the day, but the night rides are spectacular. The muffleheads in the face really add to it!

The only thing I really have against Maverick now is the shuffling. Oh man, it's bad on some trains.

I got two rides last Sunday, and my first ride was really shaking. It didn't take away much from the ride, but it was certainly noticeable. My second ride was much smoother. Both rides were in the back seat, which is the only place I ride now.

^^ Good plan I rode it in the front my first time then the back the second time and even though I'm not a big fan of Maverick the very back was better than the very front.

I think airtime coasters are better in the back as you have more of a feeling of being dragged over the top...

But other than the drop, I think the airtime is actually more extreme in the front.

I just find the front, since it enters all the elements slightly faster than the back of the train to be "rougher" and contains more laterals than the back.

And yes, that shuffling. Im suprised, and then again, not suprised that its already attacking the trains considering how tortorous the track is on the trains. But its still unfortunate.

I disagree. IMO, the back is about twice as good as the front. But that's just my personal preference.
If you really step back and look at it, you don't have time to notice big gaping differences other than the drop because you're going through everything too fast.

Im pretty certain the front has MORE statistical airtime. Its just physics and its easy to figure out. Shorter trains do mean the difference in G's from front to back are not as different say say a train MF's length, but I can explain this later if you wish.

Which do I prefer? The back. I never said I prefered the front, I just said the front I believe has more airtime than the back. It enters all of the elements with slightly more speed than the back and would therefore statistically have more airtime.

And if you know enough about the rides you can step back and notice the differences, however small they may be. Sure it takes the entire course at what seems like Mach 2 but physics will tell you alot.

I still prefer the back seat but if its shuffling as much as I think I may start riding front. The shuffle is VERY annoying.

Yes, statistically, it probably does have more airtime, but the airtime I love is the kind that you get in the back when the train pulls you over the hill. That's why it's better.

The back IMO was no where near as enjoyable as the front. I did prefer the back on the first drop, but after that, it was nothing more than a headache. The front delivered a great view and a ride that is smooth enough to enjoy. The front also delivered great airtime, which was indeed a pleasant surprise. My recommendation is to go for the front (the first time I rode they were assigning seats, after that, the next time I was allowed to choose).

I rode Maverick this summer and I'd have to say it was the best coaster I have ever ridden, better than Top Thrill, Millenium, and Apollo. The ride is just simply just pure fun from start to finish, never is it unexciting at any point. Even the lift hill is sorta exciting.

Also, it has everything I love about coasters all in one. Airtime, speed, laterals, quick turns, a steep drop, a launch, inversions and even theming (which is rare for CP). You won't find yourself getting on Maverick and saying "Man, I liked this but it shoulda had that." It has everything.

Oh please, not that again.
It's better without it. It would have been incredibley painful and everyone would have hated it.

And technically, the horshoe roll is perfectly heartlined, so it has two.

I finnally got an opportunity to give this one a spin. Great coaster! I'm not ready to say it's my favorite but it was pretty good. I still prefer MF over Maverick but I'm glad I finnally made it.

8 weeks and 1 day until I get to experience Maverick. I can't wait as it gets great reviews, especially after being letdown by the so called #1 woody Thunderhead... I give TH 12 days to hold that title then either El toro or Voyage will sit atop the woody mountain...

The entire ride is perfectly heartlined, whats your point? A zero g roll is NOT a heartline roll.

Would it have been incredibly painful? I dont think so. I thought I read that someone heard that Kernacs said it wasnt painful but just awkward and probably not practical. Plus it was doing far more damage to the trains than people. I watched it test quite a bit with that roll and I would have done it instantly.

Was it ever confirmed that Kernacs actually rode it? Wouldn't the construction crew be the first riders?
I watched it test as well, and it went through way too fast. It would have hurt like hell.

Although the element looked cool CP is known for giving good rides on their new coasters (somethimes they don't age the best ) and why start with a coaster that has potential rider problems? I would have loved Mystery Mine but to me it is just a regular coaster due to the tight radiance of the first section of the ride, somewhat painfull if you arent bracing for them...

Another reason I like Maverick so much is how energetic the line is. Check out a video of it a few weekends ago. Awesome. Where else will they do that?

And on opening weekend of the ride, people were doing the wave through the crowd. Waiting in line for Maverick goes by quickly when people are like this.

Why couldn't that have happened when I was in line, that would be so much fun.

An hour and a half of looking at stuffed animals in the lake and handrails, and I don't even get the least of getting to hit a beach ball around? Next time I go to a long line I'm bringing a baseball, lol. Throw up 500 gloves and we'll have a nice game of catch.

Mav was great! Not the best ride in the park in my book. I still prefer scraping the dead masquitos off my face from MF.
