| | | Two new coasters from Vekoma Yeah, its right. I have just found out that Vekoma has released two new coasters to theirs ride-lineup...
They look very cool...
The two new coasters is:
Splash Party - A coaster simular to the Setpoint Roller Soaker/Swing Thing coasters(Roller Soaker at Hersheypark, and Flying Super Saturator at Paramount's Carowinds)
Big Air - The old ''Hammerhead Stall''-coaster they have been worded on, and they'll try again with this new version, which looks pretty cool.
They have also added the ''Pandora's Box''-ride to theirs homepage.
Check them out on www.vekoma.com

| | | Bigair looks lame. I liked the stalls airplane cars better. Also wiyth the slow spin it doesnt seem as fun as intamins free spin cars...
Splashparty is just a kiddie invert with some water.. It looks ok I guess..

| | | I agree, Big Air looks a little boaring Splash Party is just their familt coaster with water. I still likethe Setpoint water coasters better.
I do however like that an entire train can dump water at the same time if wanted. I also saw only one area where the water hits you on the ride and one area where you can hit people on the ground.
Nice designs but Vekome needs to come up with some new ideas again anot not trying to run with current ideas.

| | | Big Air looks as stupid as Xbox 360. Why does the track look extremely similar to Mack water coaster track?
Splash Party is nothing new. |

| | | I've said it before and I'll say it again, a roller soaker/splash party type ride would be a great addition to Cedar Point. Although capacity could be an issue, building one of these on the site of the current Peanuts Playground would be a huge "family" addition to the park. Construction would not even require the demolition of the playground. They could keep the Peanuts Express and the sand pit digger things and just remove some of the filler equipment in the center.
Build a station and queue down by the giant stump (it really isnt a tree without the top) and have the coaster fly over the center of the playground. In the place of the current equipement, interactive water cannons and fountains could be added to continue the playground atmosphere. Because it can still be cold early and late in the season, computer controls could change the "dump zones" so that it can become a relatively dry attraction when it is cold.
That area of the park is almost always empty right now. With the addition of an attraction such as a roller soaker/splash party, it could become alive with families and children who are becoming too old for the rides in kiddy kingdom. It could become a second Camp Snoopy type area that would spread the crowds of families out more around the park on busy days. |

| | | Big air looks stupid, boring?!!! Skateboarding is great, rollercoasters are great, together it looks almost identical to Intamins attempt, only Vekoma. Splash parties might be cool, but judging by HP's RS, the line would be tremendous

| | | I think if CP were to do something like Roller Soaker they would have to do it as a dueling coaster. Either that or get Vekoma or Setpoint to develop a larger scale version that uses trains instead of individual cars. If the current Setpoint models clear a car every 30 seconds they are getting 480 riders per hour max. capacity, Cedar Point would need to double that to make it feasible as a new coaster, but building it in that area it would have a tremendous effect on revitalizing that area of the park. |

| | | Aw, well I kinda liked the Big Air. I agree that the water thingy isn't really "new," but to Vekoma, yeah.
Big Air has 2 things that draw my attention. First thing is its theming, secondly its car rotation dealy. That looks like a lot of fun. SFoG should buy one.

| | | Vekoma has actually offered the Big Air thing for quite a while now. They actually had the idea (at least publicly) before Intamin. They basically just rethemed it to make it seem new. So Big Air=not new. The Splash Party looks really lame except for the fact that they have long trains. It's really short though. So Splash Party=lame rip off.

| | | yeah the setpoint coasters have long lines
even at Carowinds, where waits for TG, the b&m invert never go past 70 minutes on normal summer operating weekends (and usually less then 15 on any other day), the wait for Flying Super Saturator has to be the third longest in the park... the waits are usually 45 or so minutes... the awesome thing about carowinds' is that you get wet several times just waiting in line...
there would have to be a larger version for CP to consider it, but i don't think trains would be a good idea, the feel and 'thrill' of flying around with a very small lap restraint in a single inverted car is what keeps me riding this... that and spraying the weary walker in the midway below
