Superman: The Escape Left Track

I visited Six Flags Magic Mountain on the 25th of July, and I thought I was crazy for a second, when I noticed the left track shot up the tower. That was the only time though. Later when I got onto the right side, there was no sign of activity on the other side. Does the left track always test once a day, or was this a special occasion in which they were going to open the left side? There were also two mechanics at the bottem of the stairs of the exit, but I don't know if they actually did anything with the ride itself. Anyone know anything?

I think they test both sides fairly regularly but never run both sides. Too much power drain on the park.

It would be nice to at least have alternating use - week by week or month by month, switching the sides.

When I was at SFMM 3 years ago, only the right side was running. But I'm sure they test both sides.

oh thats odd. but i guess it has to do with superman itself. you probably have to test both sides, and i did hear that it took up a lot of energy, but i agree, they should alternate sides, even though most people say the right side is better or something because it, [goes higher?]

I hate that ride. Four hours of waiting to be crammed into a car with no legroom and be launched down a track at high speeds with the seat giving your ass a Swedish massage.

But it's pretty fun.

They test each side every day, but pretty much just run the right side.
