SOB to re-open in 2007

According to WKRC, SOB has been fixed and will re-open in 2007. Also listed in the Cincinnati.com news.

What a shame. All they needed was a match and some gasoline.

Psh you guys. Cedar Fair is not going to destroy SOB for a few good reasons.
1) The general public LIKES the ride the only people who truly dis like it are coaster enthusiasts and not even all of them dis-like it face it your a minority.
2) It is a record braker pure and simple.
3) It is a good ride so quit your whining and deal with it!

I am glad that it will be re-opening the park needs it IMO.

1.) Actually, much of the general public dislikes it as much as enthusiasts, though I have met one women who enjoys it.
2.) Lots of things are record-breakers, pure and simple. Windjammer at KBF could be considered a record-breaker. Drachen Fire at BGW could be considered a record-breaker. Bat at PKI could be considered a record-breaker.
3.) I can't respond to this as I haven't ridden it, but I must ask what you see in it.

^I enjoy it. It's got that "rickety old wooden coaster" feeling to nth degree. It shakes you so hard you laugh through the whole ride.

Easily my second favorite coaster at PKI behind Beast, of course.

I would say SOB is one of those rides when you cannot expect what you will get. There have been some days when the ride was quite good. There have been some days when the ride was rather painful. I have ridden SOB 8 times one day without any problem whatsoever. However, there were some days when I could not ride more than once. Ironically, SOB was much better this year than the past.

I rode it the first year it came out. I was screaming in pain and the terror of derailing! It hurt so badly. It was too bad, it looked so awesome! Just with the huge drop and a LOOP on a wooden coaster! The loop was smoother than anything else in the ride. It felt like the train was going to shoot off the track, or the lap bars to come undone! I was terrified! I don't get very scared on coasters, this one truelly, and I admit it, SCARED ME! I can't wait to ride it again though, to compare to before. And I was also younger, but I remember to pain! I would say....i disliked it...but I WOULD ride it again!

Just go to the TN profile page for Son of Beast and read the majority of the comments say about the ride.
