New Coaster Myspace

Hey, I was kinda bored and was watching the POV video of Renegade and I thought, "Hey! I love this coaster, so why don't I make a myspace for it?" So I did.
www.myspace.com/renegade22
Add me as a friend, or just enjoy.
Thanks.

^Nice job. This may be the first coaster to have myspace. Wow that sounds weird a coaster has a myspace.

^Actually there are tons of coasters on myspace. I have more coasters and amusement parks on my friends list than I do actual people. I only add parks, and coasters that I've ridden, but I may change that.

^I didn't know that. Of course I don't use myspace so that is probably why.

Eh. No, I've seen MySpace profiles for Tatsu, and other Six Flags rides. I think it's lame, but if the people have the time to make and maintain a profile for an amusement park ride as if it were a person...then more power to them.

I wouldn't think it's any more lame or time consuming than posting messages in a forum on a daily basis, or following a ride's construction.

1. Posting on TN as a means of connecting with fellow enthusiasts and following ride construction to keep up with your interests.

2. Posing as a roller coaster by creating an internet networking site profile that was meant for people and asking randoms to join your "friends list."

I am going to assume most people will agree with me that there is a difference. One is tapping into a hobby. The other is just weird.

^I wouldn't say the other is weird. Well it is in a way but if you like the coaster who cares. But yes there is definetly a difference.

Magnum XL-200 has 176 Friends, so you are obviously calling every single person on that list and all the other friends of the "Roller Coasters" weird?

He may not, but I certainly would say all those people are taking it too far.

The ride's age is way off. If you really want to put it in terms of 'age' it would still be a fetus since it hasn't even been 'born' (open) yet.
Parks tend to "age" their coaster from when they opened, not when they were announced. So saying "Hi, I'm Renegade. I was born on September 21st 2006." not only contradicts park "aging" systems, but also the vital stats you posted (1 month does not equal 19 years).

I'm done being technical.

I have about 30 coaster friends or so on the Space. I wouldn't mind to add Renegade.

I see what you're saying, but I don't think you can have 1 month as your age on Myspace.

Whats so wierd about a fansite? Space serves as a place to have a fansite of a park if you deem fit. Nothing wrong with that! In Fact I run teh Lake Winnie myspace page and I hace consent from teh park itself. I do have guidelines from them to hold as well.

Speaking of Woodie4-07 do you have permission from the park. Because technically you can't use the name without the parks permission.

Here is a myspace for Shivering Timbers I made a while back. She (ST) would love to add Renegade as a friend.

I think you can use it without permission. It's just like any other themepark fansite except its about a coaster.

Some people think that being a roller coaster enthusiast is weird, what would they say to this? I can only imagine.

Im not one to chastise you guys for being fans of coasters, and taking your obcession to that level. I certainly wouldnt take things that far, but if that interests you, and if that keeps you occupied, then its cool. Although I have never heard or seen a MySpace coaster profile till now; the discovery of such a concept really surprised me. I guess its official, everybody has a myspace profile, even the coasters, lol.

I don't really know. I was bored, and there's no where that has a lot of info about Renegade other than VF's main site. And I honestly don't think you'd need permission. Or else about 300 coaster/park fans would have had to get permission which would've been a drag.

^True.

I don't think the parks really would care but technically you are supposed to because Valleyfair is a registered trademark and can not be used with out there permission. But I don't think that the parks would care as long as people don't start bashing them which I'm sure if people were going to take the time to create a myspace for it they wouldn't bash it.

Hey Woodie4-07. You got mentioned on Screamscape, or at least your Myspace did.
