| | | Maverick vs. Renegade Everbody has been fighting about which coaster is better in all different forums so I thought I would just make it its own forum. Debate away.

| | | I win.
I don't really need to explain. I've got a rollercoaster named after me. No contest. |

| | | This debate is pointless. These two coasters different in almost every way possible. I don't know how this debate got started in the first place, but it was always the same people who were fighting over the two. Mostly the Valleyfair fanboys. |

| | | Ummm... To me they are two totally different coasters, being ones wooden and one is steel. So they are hard to judge in my opinion, but If I would take one, I'd take Renegade because I picked it in the coaster draft... I know thats not a reasonable debate, but the question isn't either. |

| | | Let's not have this be a "Maverick looks cooler" or "Woodens are more fun". IMO Maverick looks so much better than Renegade. But apparently Mavericks reviews aren't very good. People have been saying it bangs them around and the turns give no airtime. Now this sounds weird saying a wooden is better than a steel, but looking at all of Renegades reviews people say it has nonstop action and such.
I do not like Renegade just because I'm a fanboy. Maverick appeals to me more, but riding Renegade not too long ago completely changed my viewpoint on things. Renegade is fast, crazy, not very rough and such. It blew me away.
So please, don't vote until you have rode at least one of them.

| | | ^ How could you be serious? Unless you are being sarcastic or just messing around? You post a lot in the CP's Maverick thread and obviously have to read what people post. Well RidePhoto101 said "With the constant quick changes in direction, the thin, unpadded OTSRs hurt your neck A LOT! I can see some neck injuries and a lot of first aid visits from these in the near future." Plus you even said "The restraints only beat you up if you arent prepared for the speed this ride hits transitions. By my 4th ride yesterday I was well aware of the spots that toss you around. By no means is this a "small" or "tame" coaster."
So I highly doubt you are serious. |

| | | ^ Some like it rough? I can't stand Millennium Flyer restraints either, but it doesn't stop me from putting Thunderhead near the top of my list for the quality of the ride. |

| | | Most like it rough as in bouncing around flying crazy turns. Not rough head smashing like stand ups. Honestly, I hope Maverick is fixed and it becomes better, mabey better than Renegade. I hate seeing it get bad reviews because I was watching the webcam the day the site opened. I followed the mystery since May 2006.

| | | Their both great rides and both parks should be happy with them. Yea CP could have had a better choice, and Renegade could have been longer but their both great and hard to compair.

| | | The only "head smashing" I experienced was when my eyes were half closed and I couldn't really see the approaching transitions... Having your hands up doesn't help that much. Intamin OTSRs aren't very forgiving, but it doesn't make the ride more or less enjoyable.
I'm more for track design judgement than train and restraint design judgement. |

| | | Honestly, right now, at this very moment, I think Renegade is probably a better ride. Both have gotten great reviews, but people have been saying that the transitions aren't great. Now compare that to the glass smooth suspended-like transitions on Renegade. Other than that, the rides seem about equal, so my vote is "Both Rock."

| | | You cant judge them until you'vr been on them both. Renegade was fun and I loved it. I thought it was great but the lapbars gave me a giant bruise after a few rides. im going to try and get to Maverick this summer to see what it is like. |
