| Most Painful Flat Ride?
What is the most painful flat ride you've ever ridden? For me, it would definitely have to be the Inverter at SFNE. The only safety restraint was a hard metal lap bar pushed VERY tightly into your lap, and it was very painful when you flipped upside down. I really thought my legs were gonna break when we were upside down. I was so glad to get off that ride in one piece. Here's a video of an Inverter, but imagine it with only a hard lap bar pushed tightly in your lap instead of shoulder restraints: |

| First of all, welcome to the boards! I've never been on an Inverter with JUST a lapbar. The models with both The OTSR's and the support bar don't hurt. For me, the most painful flats [Even though I still ride both] would be the KMG Spinout [or any spinout for that matter] or the KMG Tango. Random Spinout video: Random Tango video:

^^Now that you mention it, I think it may have had both an OTSR and a lapbar. Still painful to me; I think my lapbar was pushed in way too tightly. Actually, I think the lapbar is unnecessary on that ride and it should only have an OTSR.

I rode a spinout when I was little, and I was really small, so you can imagine the numerous clanks against the OSTR's. Another ride you should NEVER ride is called Eclipse. It was at the Minnesota state fair. It had abnormally big restraints, and it was boring and painful. I had 5+ bruises after riding it once.

For me It would be the Hurricane like at the county fairs. If you were on the inside the little bar going into your leg. AHHHHHHHHHHH. Some padding and a squishy seat divider instead of a thin bar would be nice. Heres a video of it if your not familiar with it. |

Spinouts aren't that painful for me, and i missed my chance at a Tango. The most painful ride is a music express when your sitting next to an extremely large person.

Gravitrons are pretty painful for me because they push on the upper chest. I still like them though.

Here's the ride I was talking about in my original post above: http://www.sfne.com/index.php?cat=rides&ride=dt Look at the comments at the bottom. Looks like I'm not the only one who thinks it's painful! |

I've found the restraints on SWAT (S&S Sky Swatters) to be rather uncomfortable, the back of the seat isn't padded at it always jabs my spine. Also, I'm not too fond of the horse collars on the Looping Starships.

Cloudeleven, that's just like Time Warp at Geauga Lake, my all-time least favorite flat. The autorestraints might crush you like a bug, but at least it isn't any fun!

I do not recall any that were too uncomfortable. The restrant system is always restrictive. That what it is design for. Anyway Probably the biggest complaint I ever have is lack of leg room. I can usually compensate for this by sitting with my ankles crossed.

The zipper in my opinion is very uncomfortable, especially if the duration of ride time is too long. The lack of modern restraints (only a bar that is connected to the door) adds to the lack of enjoyment. Somewhat of a carnival classic, but not too comfortable. If you have never heard of it or just want to view a video: Also, I agree, the Inverter rides are not too enjoyable either, and really stress your body. I have ridden them at various carnivals, in addition to the one at the Kemah Boardwalk and SF New Orleans. -TedFuzz

I can't stand WipeOut's. They kill my rib cage when I am riding with friends. I am practically hanging out the side of the car for most of the ride.

Huss Energizers are more painful than anything else I've ridden.
