Barcelona Spain coaster from 1912!

http://www.elperiodico.cat/default.a...seccio_PK=1022

I saw this over on TPR and thought it was really cool.

Besides Leap the Dips (which still operates in PA), this is the only other side-friction coaster I've seen operating. Look at the coaster fly around those unbanked turns!

You have to skip to about 7:00 to get to the coaster. Be sure to watch what happens when the last guy gets into the water ride too!

Awesome, thanks a lot! I've always been really interested in the history of amusement parks and this was a really interesting video. The coaster looked like a lot of fun, I wish there were more side-friction coasters. Leap-the-Dips is like taking a ride back through history.

He should have followed park rules and stayed in his seat till the ride came to a safe and complete stop.

Whoa now there's a dangerous ride. No restraints, people must have had common sense back then though.

Great piece of history there. I've never seen a side friction coaster in real life before. Its neet to see one on film. THe Chute the chutes is a great video as well. That another one I've seen pictures but never a video. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic find. Interesting video. The coaster shots were fun to watch and it's always cool to see old chutes operating.
